Goings-on

Well I've got the cold that everyone else seems to be coming down with. I've been just wiped out these past three days so sorry this is a bit late. I've got RL stuff happening too that's bogging my mind down. It is the waiting that takes up so much time and creates so much stress. Aside from my problems, I'm still chugging away at Chapter 2 of the character creation lecture/discussion/whatever you want to call it. I was hoping to see more talk on the message board. If you have a comment on what I've written in Chapter 1 and you don't feel comfortable posting it just drop me an email. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as well as what you think I could do to make it better.

I know you've heard it already but go post in the run-on. Our little team has a nice spot in it so the hard part of deciding where your character is at has been taken care of. If you need help figuring out what to write I'm here for you. Just throw me an email and we will brain storm.

Medals for this week! Kazarelth nabbed a nice little Crescent with Emerald Star for submitting the gaming death that ran in last weeks report and a Crescent with Sapphire Star for his first place submission to the Create a Critter competition. I got second place in that competition so I added another Crescent with Emerald Star to my collection. It was rather fun coming up with those little critters. At least I enjoyed it.

Brimstone passed a few more Shadow Academy tests this week. Dark Jedi Meditation and the Krath Grammar Studies. How many are left for you now?

There's always the weekly SA trivia held on IRC. I’m guessing in the #SA channel every Saturday at approximately 1300 EST. Make sure you check the DB news page for weekly updates.

Oh and there's the Inter Club Training Event or ICTE that happens every Saturday in the #outerrim channel. You'll need some games for that. There's also the Gaming nights during the week if you happen to fancy a game. I'm not sure when these happen or what schedule rotation it is on so just hop into #dbgaming to see what's going on. On the weekly gaming nights you can also try for an ACCLive! match but you'll have to pass qualification first.

Ramblings and Other Such Things

Cool Game Death - No one sent one in this week so I guess I'll tell the tale of me getting my butt kicked in a game.

"This one comes from BattleFront 2. My husband and I have been playing it recently and have died plenty of times. We had to defend Polis Massa as the Old Republic which was no big deal. I had my award rifle and I can take down a lot of enemies with that thing. We usually work separately when it comes to the corridor fighting but for whatever reason he decided to help me out. He ended up getting shot in the back by me because he ran in my way. While I was laughing I didn't see the grenade roll past me. It exploded, I died as my body smacked against the wall but the funny thing was the Super Battle Droid came up and started shooting my dead body. We kinda had to pause while we both laughed at the situation."

Work Related Fun - Another week, another injury. Let me paint the picture. We have decks for placing our cookie sheet pallets on. There's about two feet of cat walk grating in between each roller deck to allow for access to all sides of the pallets. Well going down through one of these gratings is a support beam and a drainage pipe. The pipe is secured to the beam by a series of metal brackets that have parts that stick out. Well where the beam and pipe interrupt the grating there is a hole big enough for a foot to slip down into. I slipped down into that last year and ended up with a skinned, bruised, and sore elbow for a week because one of the metal brackets is right there to run into. Well a guy in our group fell down and the bracket got his back. I'll say that if it wasn't for the required shirt and back support belt he would have probably had to go to the hospital. The solution to this problem we've all been complaining about for two years was to weld pieces of metal around the opening and paint it yellow. Now we have a trip hazard and the metal bracket to smash our heads into. :P Other than that it was meeting after meeting and a pitch-in with ok food.

Thought of the Week - Oh no I just made this report that much longer! Heh enjoy thoughts from my brain. "Sometimes it doesn't matter how good your work is or how consistent it is. What matters the most is who's shoes you kiss and how brown your nose gets. Being easy helps too."
