I want to borrow a few moments of your time to discuss conduct on our IRC channel (#scholae) and the Chain of Command (CoC) within Scholae Palatinae. And I will quote two of my most trusted advisors...

With our varying schedules, your e-mail should not go unnoticed for longer than eight (8) hours.

IRC Etiquette (Provided by Quaestor Occasus):

The basic law of the universe is one that we have all been taught. “Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.” Before the remainder of the etiquette policy is set, keep that in mind.

Though the freedom of speech is always present, offensive language and explicit words should be held to a bare minimum. Given the ages of some members, a “PG-13” vocabulary should be used. Slip ups and accidents are permissible. However, excessive use of vulgar words will result in disciplinary actions.

Topics on the Clan Channel are to be used for the purpose of conveying information to the entire clan. Changing the topic is allowed for all members. It is noted, however, that the topic should not be changed to mention frivolous or nonsense subjects. Offensive materials are prohibited. Nonsense and damaging topics will be changed immediately and the person who created them will be disciplined as necessary.

Moderators can only be held accountable for monitoring the Clan channel. Abuse, harassment or crude language in other channels and PMs are not under the supervision of the Clan Leaders. However, if a member continues to harass you - report it to a Clan Leader so they can assist you in the ignoring, blocking or finding an alternative solution.

All Bans will be placed and removed by the Channel Administrators. Do not mess with the Ban list. Jesting kicks are acceptable, malicious kicking and singling out of individuals will be punishable.

The channel is used for members of Clan Scholae Palatinae to have a serviceable and relaxed environment to converse. Individuals that do not uphold to this ideal will be asked to leave upon a first offense. Additional offenses will result in more severe punishments, which will be determined at discretion by the highest ranking Clan leader present in the Channel.
