Aloha and good evening.
There's a couple of things I want to mention. I'm not going to make this a huge, drawn-out report, but there are things to take note of, and things to be a part of.
1) I would like to announce to the Clan those members who have been recently named Tarentae. For those who are not aware, the Tarentae are those honored members of the Clan who have proven their loyalty, dedication, and unswerving loyalty to Clan Tarentum and to you, its members. They have shown great activity, great strength of character, and are the epitome of what we all ought to be seeking as members and leaders within this Clan. I announce to you now the most-recent additions to the body of Tarentae in (hopefully) alphabetical order: Archean Erinos Tarentae, Quaestor of House Tridens; Dranik Tarentae, Aedile of House Gladius (note: my sincere apologies to Dranik for having forgotten to mention him originally); Karel Tarentae, of House Tridens; Sato Tarentae, of House Gladius; Troutrooper Tarentae, of House Tridens; Windos Helkin Bruth'Kothae Tarentae, of OMG Does He Have a Long Name (kidding Windos), as well as of House Gladius. These five exceptional members join those who have already been named Tarentae in the past, and they are more than deserving of both the honor of the Clan name, as well as my thanks and appreciation. Each of them are considered both dedicated warriors of Tarentum, and leaders of this Clan no matter what position they hold. Congratulations again, gentlemen.
2) The Clan Run-On is still going on. Get over to the Message Board and become a part of it. Run-Ons (for those who don't know) are much like a "campfire story," where everyone passes the stick, and tells a portion of the story. Each person posting in succession adds to the story as a whole, helping to further the plot, resolve conflicts, add in suspense, mystery, and other plot items, and more. Check the Run-On so far at: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4160 and get involved with it. So far, I'm enjoying both the progress of the story, and being a part of it, too. I hope you'll all take the time to read it over and get posting in it with the rest of us.
3) Necromancy, the powers of dread cults obsessed with life and death, and the birthright of Tarentum. As a Clan, Tarentum is home to some of the most powerful Necromancers in the galaxy. Where other Clans and beings may fear death, my misunderstand life, and may be blind to the limitless ideas of existence, we study these concepts, we explore their boundaries, and we manipulate the powers they offer. Some of these powers allow powerful Clan members to raise corpses to fight for them; other powers may allow you to draw on the very essences of death and dying to affect your foes. Other powers still may allow you to call on the ancient spirits of the dead, and subjugate them to your will (if you have the strength). We see evidence of these concepts and powers throughout the facets of Star Wars: Obi-Wan becomes "more powerful than [Darth Vader] could imagine" in A New Hope; Exar Kun released his spirit from his mortal form and existed, bound to a Massassi monument until gaining the strength to terrorize Luke Skywalker's Yavin IV Jedi Temple; Palpatine could live on past death (in Return of the Jedi) to inhabit a clone body specially prepared to house his eternal spirit (in Dark Empire). Other examples of Necromantic power and ideas dot the Star Wars universe, and you now walk that path to great and destructive power as a member of Clan Tarentum.
And Necromancy is undergoing an update and revamp. The project of building and reviewing the Clan's powers has been one that I have never considered "complete." This project began with myself and former Consul Ciara Tearnan almost five years ago. After the Split, the project was re-started with myself and Oberst, and has continued to be something many of us in the Clan have put effort and ideas into to make it as good as it can be. The latest revamp and update continues, and I would like feedback from everyone who would like to give comments and suggestions. You can view the current work on the majority of the powers on the Clan's own boards, provided by Rekio, here: http://www.tarentum.org/viewtopic.php?t=17
I would also like to note, there are other ideas for powers from some of the other elder members of this Clan, and I invite them to post their ideas for everyone. Also, please feel free to respond directly to that thread. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, I would love to hear them. I would like to note that the descriptions for those powers are very basic. If you're not sure what is intended for any of those descriptions, please post a comment on that, and we'll make sure it gets clarified for you.
4) I did want to put out a question to everyone real quick, and ask for some feedback. What do you want to see, or get out of the Brotherhood? "I want to be a wicked, leet Jedi Badass with powers that kill all my enemies!" That one will be hard to really work on, or respond to. "I'd like to be able to play some of the games. I just picked up Jedi Academy, and I'm not very good, but I could use some help." Stuff like that, I can definitely work on with you, and get you in touch with the right people. So, what are you here for? How can I help you? Get in touch with me and let me know what made you join this Club, and how I can help make this place everything you'd like it to be.
I think I'll end this one with that. As always, if you need anything, be it advice, help, someone to talk to, or whatever, email me. I'll get back to you as soon as I can, but generally within 12-24 hours. I do have to admit, though, I can be forgetful when I have a lot going on, so if any of you have waited longer than that, email me again and remind me what's up, and feel free to send me an e-smack over the head for forgetting. Have a good week, Tarentum. Remember to get involved in things.
