CNS Consul Report #46 - June 2nd, 2007

Something odd about soda. I normally put room-temperature Coca-Cola into a cup full of ice, and it suds up in a normal way. However, when I put chilled Coca-Cola into a cup full of nice, it suds up in a different way. The suds are thicker, less bubbly, and they kinda linger for a while. It certainly is interesting, and when I noticed it, I thought to myself, "Well, isn't this something?"

However, the soda doesn't feel that much cooler than it would had I just put warm water. I mean, I'm assuming that by putting room-temperature Coke into a glass full of ice, the soda chills to a few degrees above freezing. So, if the soda is refrigerated, it's already at that level, and the combination of soda and ice, no matter how chilled it was, is going to make it go colder than a certain level.

The other downside is that, for some reason, the soda doesn't taste as good. It tastes better when it's room-temperature soda than refrigerated soda. I was thinking about the soda that I get from McDonalds or Burger King. I wonder how cold that soda is by default, because it doesn't seem to foam up that much. It's like there's a different formula coming out.

As most of you know, I love Slurpees. However, I know that the Coke-flavored Slurpee stuff is potent stuff. It's not regular Coke. It's super-strength or something. But, at this point you're looking for a CON report, so here goes:

1. New HLK Quaestor
   

As you guys should know by now, Malisane is stepping down as Quaestor. However, do not fear, because he's not going anywhere. He'll still be KCB and he'll still be working for this clan.

After Malisane steps down, Ashia Kagan will be taking over as Quaestor. I think she'll do fine, and I hope this leads to yet another long term as HLK Quaestor. HLK is over 8 years old, and yet there have only been 12 Quaestors of this clan. Put into perspective, I am the 18th Consul of Clan Naga Sadow.

Ashia, Macron, and I (and maybe Malisane) will be discussing a few things, including a new Aedile.

1. "Attacking the Clones"
   

Attacking the Clones has ended. That makes me a little sad actually. It was a nice competition. I need to compile the submissions for Round 3, and get in touch with the judges to make sure they're grading the events so that we can determine an overall winner and rec the dozens of medals this competition entails.

So what's next? Well, assuming a Great Jedi War in July, that gives me enough time to run one more Historical Campaign in June. I hope to run Rai's. He already gave me a listing of comp ideas, so once I can find the email, we can run that competition. I know some of you were thinking about participating in Attacking the Clones, but once the Historical Competition begins again, you'll have your opportunity for crescents and stuff.

Alright. I'll admit, I've been slacking here. Here are the courses I'm supposed to take:

I did take the Chamber of Justice course, but it's been maybe 5 or 6 days and it has yet to be graded. So Kir, if you read my reports, please grade my Chamber of Justice exam.

This week's winner of the poll is the "History of the Sith Empire 2" exam with a whopping 2 votes. I'm actually looking forward to taking that exam, hopefully tomorrow. I have to get up early to help a friend move his stuff into a POD. Ever heard of PODS? They are these containers that you put your stuff in. It's great.

There were two promotions this week. Excellent.

1. Gaming
   

What a great week for gaming.

In last Saturday's ICTE, I took 2nd place overall with 54 CFs. In addition, Max got 12 CFs and Ashia Kagan got 10 CFs.

In the Sunday Tournament, I got 14 CFs and Max got 3 CFs.

In gaming this week, Nik-Qui Kux got 1 CF.

When it comes to total number of Clusters of Fire, last weekend's work on my part boosted me from 14th overall in the DB to 10th. Guess who's 9th? Ylith. I'm coming after you. :P

1. Conclusion
   

I've been doing a lot of reading lately. It's one of my hobbies outside of the DB. Books are nice. People don't seem to like reading books anymore, and that's a shame.
