_ A shrill beeping chirp from R5 brought Rasilvenaira’s attention to the display screen showing the flight traffic in and around Dynasty station as well as another showing the current standing orders for the Squadrons stationed there. The Grim Reaper Wing was being mobilized into high alert status, and the Battlemaster knew that would likely mean negotiations with the latest enemy would be aggressive at best.

“Well, serves them right, only a fool would challenge a Sith House in their own territory.” She thought to herself.

Turning away from the display, she glanced over at her astromech droid. “Monitor the situation; let me know if things escalate, I’m going to go check with the Command center. I seriously doubt they will attempt a planet side strike, but I want to make sure we’re ready in case they’re that foolish.”

R5 whirred and chirped, then turned back to the computer displays tracking the information as requested.

The Aedile headed to the Security Command Center, catching the eye of the Chief of Security as she walked in. He nodded and moved to intercept her, “Yes, Aedile, what can I do for you?”

“I am sure you are by now aware of the situation occurring in space around the Dynasty Station. I need you to step up planet side security, just on the off chance that these fools think to launch a ground based attack on us.”

He bowed, “I’ll see to it personally.”

“Good, I’ll expect a status report when you’re done, I’ll be in my office.”

Returning to her office, Rasilvenaira settled back into her chair, and stared at the mountain of paperwork for a moment. With a chuckle, she picked up the small snuzzleguff that was happily chewing on what had been intended to be her latest report. The small creature purred and looked up at her as she pet it.

“Kiassa, you do realize, you’re not helping.” She chided, only to give up as she usually did. “Go play for a while, I do have to get this done.” She sat Kiassa on the floor and watched the Snuzzleguff bounce off to find a plant to go to sleep in, and then she turned her attention back to her report. _

Also, EP for History of the Sith Empire II is open for applications as well. OT Xan Phraz-Etar Kaeth has returned to House Caliburnus in a blaze of glory with his typical style. Xan earned the ICTE All-Star, so congrats to him on that victory, just one of many to come.

In House news, the big thing is the Golden Iris Conflict has begun! All of you are being called upon the help your House in this conflict, put your best effort in and you will reap the rewards.

Conflict and adversity seem to abound, regardless of how much you may try to avoid it. They are unfortunately inevitable, and can not be controlled. However, what determines the ultimate outcome is not how well we avoid the struggles of conflict, but rather, how we react to them and survive them. When others attack you, you can choose to fight back, or you can dismiss them as being unworthy of the effort. Pick your fights wisely, and do not give into petty squabbles and the ramblings of those who would bring you down. Know yourself, as the important and worthy being you are, know that you are a valued individual. By meeting adversity and conflict with your head held high, knowing your strengths, and your weaknesses, by learning from the struggles you overcome, you will gain greater wisdom and experience than one who would hide from the difficulties.

But in all things, we must remember, we are responsible for our own actions, and in facing a conflict in the proper way, we influence the outcome. Be respectful of others, even if you disagree with them, it will show you as the better person in the long run. If you accept the challenge, and still seek the positive aspects, you will grow stronger from the lessons learned. Adversity forces us to see ourselves as we are, to reach deeper within ourselves for that inner strength.

House Caliburnus and Clan Scholae Palatinae have had a long history of standing strong through many storms and conflicts, we have survived more than our share of adversity, and yet we continue to thrive and grow. What has allowed us to remain strong and prosperous is the simple fact that we seek constantly to rise above the tides of petty arguments and pointless insults. We pull together, we stand as one united family, we help each other, and we work together to constantly raise the standards in all that we do. As long as we remain united, and vigilant, then we can not be broken.
