Goings-on

My cold is still hanging on but it's nothing that can't be dealt with.

There's an AWOL check going on right now. For those who are not familiar with an AWOL check, this is just to determine who is around and responsive and who isn't. Those that do not show a sign of life are transfered to the Rogues until they transfer back into the clan. So I suggest everyone who wants to be around just drop an email response to Mune and Dranik. All you need to do is say that you are here and maybe include your DB name.

The response to the word search was not as high as I expected but those that did it said they thought it was fun. The person who got the answer in the fastest was Tyrus so a LSS will be issued once I poke Sith about it. Look for another round of Wednesday Trivia, well, next Wednesday. :)

Remember that the Clan run-on is still going on. It seems to have slowed down considerably but we can turn that around. If you need help developing ideas for a post or the post itself just drop me an email and we'll get right down to it. Run-ons are a fantastic way to not only introduce and include your character in the Clan's history but you also get to know the other members characters. They can be overall very fun to take part in so I encourage everyone to take a stab at it.

Alright now for some award and SA test news. Brimstone of course got his LSS for the first Wednesday Trivia. I got a shiny Sapphire Blade which technically is my third but when I was awarded the last one I got the option to upgrade to the AK. That AK recc even says it's a SB, funny. Tyrus has jumped back in the game by passing the Force Philosophy test. Fantastic job guys, keep up the activity.

Competitions

Competition participation is still not where I'd like to see it. Especially from mid-level Journeymen who want that coveted lightsaber and Dark Jedi Knight rank. Got to work for it folks and the best way to do that is to participate in the many competitions that abound.

There's always the weekly SA trivia held on IRC. In the #SA channel and on the message board every Saturday at approximately 1300 EST. Make sure you check the DB news page for weekly updates.

Oh and there's the Inter Club Training Event or ICTE that happens every Saturday in the #outerrim channel. You'll need some games for that. There's also the Gaming nights during the week if you happen to fancy a game. I'm not sure when these happen or what schedule rotation it is on so just hop into #dbgaming to see what's going on.

Ramblings and Other Such Things

Cool Game Death - Tyrus sent in this last gaming death. I would continue to run the competition but I wasn't getting the response necessary to continue it. Look for something new in this spot at a later date.

"So, I was playing Gears of War with a bunch of friends online. At the beginning we decided no chainsaws or sniper. Needless to say, no one followed that. Halfway through the match, my head exploded as a sniper bullet ripped my skull apart. After the match, I vowed revenge in the dorkiest way possible. Then, we were all in the middle of the level at the next match, and no one was shooting. To this day, we have no idea why no one was shooting. But in the middle, I found my friend who sniped me, and I chainsawed him, and for the next 30 seconds, all you could hear was "grrrhhhahhhspoooosh", and blood everywhere. I was higly satisfied even though everyone died 'cept one of us. Anyways, I think there should be an achievement for carnage like that."

Work Related Fun - It was busy as I expected it to be after the holiday here in the US. I don't think there wasn't a night where a flight didn't come in late and a late flight translates to getting work shoved down your throat at the last minute. Yet the one thing that concerned and amused me at the same time was the pilot I talked to Saturday morning. I think he had ADD because I'd explain what kinds of dangerous goods he was transporting and he'd say ok then get to looking at something and I'd have to explain it again. Shiny things distracted him, brightly colored warning labels distracted him, and he somehow lost an ear plug in his pocket and we spent some time looking around for the thing he really didn't need since he was going to be putting those radio headphone things on anyways. He was a nice fellow though but it took a lot of control to keep from laughing or saying some kind of snide remark.
