_The luxurious life of the dictator of Ptolomea had began to lose it's luster after a while. He sat, blankly staring at the wall. Half of his mind dreamed about all the things a Sith could dream about, while the other mulled over piles of completely foreign paperwork. Somewhere, deep under the fortress built of paperwork, Thran found himself guessing the numbers and figures to fill in the current budget processing sheet. The open estimations on the sheet grew more sporadic, reciprocating the level of liquid in the Quaestor's liquor flask. By the end of night, The Battlemaster had filled out an entire year's worth of budgeting forms as genuine forgeries. A sigh of mixed relief and depression came over him, as the financially ignorant Quaestor moved onto the next towering stack of paperwork.

Rasilvenaira had came and left several times by this time in the night. As always, she brought only a pocketful of whispered plans to lure him away from the office. The thought of a rain-soaked walk away from the tactless demands of the life as a Quaestor tantalized the Sith. However, his darling Aedile knew from the look in his eyes that he should be left alone. So, she left him in the office, It happened that this evening would not go as it was planned, because the Proconsul was visiting, unannounced.

The Quaestor's office door opened, silently and untimely. Thran sat shirtless in the middle of the room, with enough Glitterstim to kill a Krayt Dragon. His face glistened with the shiny spice, his eyes were glazed, and his laughter was unmistakable. Somewhere in the larger of the paperwork Mountains, Occasus got lost. There was an old proverb that held true in this case, “Where there is boredom and where there is a Bakuran, there is bound to be some trouble.”

The Proconsul smirked, as this was the icing on the evidence cake. He had been looking for a way to make the Sith hurt. Even with all the ammunition Thran gave, It had taken Phoenix some time to gather tangible information. Interrupting the overwhelming joy of the narcotized House Leader, Phoenix spoke “Quaestor Occasus...I expected to see you on the floor. Though, I thought it might be sleeping the booze away, not...whatever it is you are doing...”

Thran looked up at the Proconsul, who stood tall, proud of finally catching the Quaestor red-handed. Two heartbeats passed in the uncomfortable silence, thumping around inside the Bakuran's chest like a ball in a barrel drum. At first the escaping air sounded much like a sneeze, as it struggled past a valiant attempt to remain composed. As that last grip of self control slipped from the Quaestor's grasp, laughter poured from his mouth as if magma from a volcano. Some of the laughing rolled smoothly from his chest, some shot into higher octaves as he squealed with a drug induced euphoria.

Phoenix, powerful as he was in the political circuit, could not calm the mind of his subordinate. Thran gathered himself after a moment or two, slowing the laughter down to a trickle. Disgusted by the disorderly Equite, Phoenix began his prepared speech. “Thran, I have come a long way today to express some very specific things.”

“Oh, you mean like to threaten me, extort me, and blackmail me?” the still giggling Ptolomean Surface Marshall replied, fully knowing the plot of the ProConsul.

“No, Thran...I came to finally remove the proverbial thorn, you, from my side.” the ghostly pale near-human said, reaching into his cloak.

Alright, well...This week is going to be a little bit different. I am going to take a page right from my life and hope to give you some good advice. I am sure Braecen is going to tear me a new one for discussing this, but...eh...F**k it.

I am naturally impatient. It has been my dream to become a Dark Jedi Master or more, since I joined the club. However, in naivety I failed to realize how much work and how much time is actually needed to get that far. Now, as I stand, I am Quaestor of the best House in the best Clan and I am a Sith Battlemaster. Four months of what I call an intense work regiment, leaves me in this same spot. Just like many others, I think I should be promoted. Most people are driven in to action with the hope that someday they can become a big and powerful Sith! I spend a lot of time thinking about being promoted and how soon it will happen. However, what I overlook in this situation is the actual requirements for promotions in equite levels.

This may leave you inquiring, what are the requirements for promotions in the equite levels?

Well, Let me be forward with my answer... The requirements for promotion are...

Made up. Yes, they are made up. There is no set of requirements for equites, instead there is a general area where you should be with a general list of accomplishments. There is some rhyme and rhythm to it, but it is very difficult to pick out how the promotions will work. Few ever make it to the Equite level and even fewer make it farther. Now, In my case, I will admit that I think I am the bee's knees, when it may not be the entire truth of the matter. So? How do I avoid devastation of not being promoted when I feel so strongly that one is due?

Well, the first piece of advice I have is, Stay Active in spite of your feelings. This last week, I personally experienced a major slump in my morale. Mainly because I was not staying active with the right things, I spent lots of time doing things, but I always motivate myself with the thought of a promotion. Instead of doing that to myself, I am trying to adopt a more vigilant work pattern. In other words, I ignore what I feel by drowning it in paperwork!

However, this does not really work for me, because I suffer from a rare disorder called laziness. This condition means that I am affectively allergic to doing paperwork. So, where does that leave me? Unfortunately, I am at the entire mercy of my higher-ups and that is really how the cookie crumbles.

The way to get promoted is to make sure that you are noticed! Patience and Activity. Those will be your greatest allies for promotions in the Equite Ranks. I particularly emphasize the patience part. Promotions will come in time. All the DJMs are old and moldy for a reason, cause it takes time to be promoted! I am only joking about the old and moldy part, but the rest is true. Be patient and you won't suffer the irritation like I did.

As always, my door is always open (Except when I am naked). Come talk to me if something is bothering you, especially promotion problems. I think that is another thing that probably caused me to tweak out this past week, I didn't honestly talk to my superiors when I was having an issue with my DB career.

GJW PREP!

CSP Summer Games! The CSP games are here! . Braecen has created a series of games that we can run to give us medals and all sorts of fun things. GO DO IT!

Project Pool – Are you looking for something to do? Are you tired of the same old droning competitions? Would you like to donate your time and effort to the House? Well, Soon The Project pool will be posted on the Caliburnus Forum. Look for projects that interest you and contact the Overlord of the project, who will give you a task! The goal of this is to get the House involved in changing the face of House Caliburnus.

Revamping of the House Maps. Now that we have a map...I want to up the quality...So look for those in the future. Ras has been busting her chops (as well as mine) to crank out some new maps. We are also going to doing similar things with the Facilities on Ptolomea's Moon as well as the space station. I am kind of a map fiend, so expect to see lots of them!

Created images of the Houses Facilities, other than Maps, are in the future as well. If you are an accomplished Graphic Designer or you can draw some things on Photoshop, connect with me so I can possibly exploit you! And by that I mean...help me Graphic Artists...You are my only hope!

Some work with the Clan Menagerie, If you are interested in getting involved email me or contact me on IRC, I could use some minions! It would consist of basic writing tasks, imagination, and having to deal with me. I am officially moving into the next steps of the Menagerie project. I have to settle on some details, but it will involve the separation of the creatures into the Respective houses. I hope to do something in the spirit of the NFL (American Football) Draft, just to spice it up! I am also going to be pressing some work creating personal pets for the clan. Keep listening for more details.

I am going to be posting some polls on the Forums. They don't so much have a point, but are fun to do.

Does anyone who does graphics want a medal? Well, If you do...Send me a bunch of graphics for my reports! Use the headings you see here...and be sure that they are...BAD ASS! (like me, I wish :P)
