Aloha and good evening.
I'm going to be brief with this one, but there are some things I want to touch upon.
1) I apologize for the lack of a report last weekend. June 1 is my birthday, and last weekend, some friends and I took off on a hastily-planned trip out to Nevada. It was a quick trip, with all of the driving done by me, and when I got back, I was exhausted, and the report slipped my mind until Wednesday of this week, and by then, I figured I'd wait until now. So, again, I apologize. I don't like making the habit of forgetting reports. If you ever need updates on stuff, want to know about anything I'm doing, what the DC is up to, whatever, toss me an email. I promise, I try to keep a 12-24 hour turn-around time on emails. I do forget once in a while though; I admit, I sometimes find myself guilty of being human. Heh. But yeah, if you need answers or help with anything, toss me an email. I'd love to try and help you figure things out if I can, or I'll try and point you out to who can help you if nothing else.
2) "Where's my rewards?" Some of you are absolutely due rewards. I had been hoping to take care of it this weekend, but I was "asked" to pull some overtime yesterday, and found myself being unusually busy today. Yeah, some rewards are past due. I will say, I plan on making sure everyone who needs rewarding gets what they deserve, with "interest" paid out for those who have had to wait longer than normal. I will mention, though, that higher-leveled rewards that I like to give, or want to give certain people, sometimes have to wait a bit longer and such. The recent mode of thinking in the DB is, if you receive an award, everything you've done up until the point of that reward "has been rewarded for." I don't agree with that; I think some rewards are for specific events, while others are for specific time periods. Needless to say, this sometimes creates conflicts between myself and the MAA over what I want to reward, and what he believes can be approved. Kraval is a good guy. I've known him since I was SHW, and he was a part of my Guard cell. I think rather highly of him, and I value his viewpoint, even when I sometimes wish he thought otherwise. Between me writing recs, and him pointing out to me what I may need to expand upon, or add in, you will all get everything you deserve.
3) Sarin has sent out an email to the Dark Council about recent concerns revolving around our ability to retain recruits. At present, he has expressed some concerns, has given some thoughts about what we need to look into, what we may need to change, and so forth. If you have any thoughts about member retention, what made you stay, how we might entice others to stay, etc., feel free to email me, or email Sarin directly. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to hear your ideas. But please, make sure they are honest, appropriate ideas; suggesting to him that dancing, naked Twi'leks on the site to motivate people to hang around longer is not a good idea. :P
4) Go check out the new Hand-to-Hand Combat Guide. Muz recently posted it on the DB News page. I read through it tonight, and I think it's a pretty decent read. I think it's a decent addition, and goes along pretty nicely with the Lightsaber Guide. Check it out at http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/hand_to_hand_guide.asp
If I think of anything else that needs to be touched on, I'll toss out another email tomorrow after I get home from work. Have a good week, Tarentum.
