CONSUL REPORT: THE STATE OF THE CLAN

Hey all…z0mg, Consul report! :P

Yeah, that’s right, I’m continuing my reporting spree! Ph3ar :P Anyway, those of you who’ve been checking your email lately know that I’m the Consul now…and as such, not only can I rejoice in unlimited power, but I also get to speech again! :P

Starting with the main facts…

My name is Krath Epis Timeros Caesus Entar. I’ve spent over seven years in the Brotherhood, and virtually all of my active time within Clan Arcona. Aside from a stint as Battleteam Leader, ages back, this is my first time truly in leadership, and I’m lovin’ every moment of it so far. In the past year, I’ve been Aedile and Proconsul mostly, aside from a momentary lapse where I felt I was obliged to run my mouth off at the DC. I’m more foul-mouthed than Sashar, more sarcastic than Malidir, more stringy with awards than Kraval, more bribe-able than Strat himself, and a greater ass than Oberst. And let’s not go into my bad traits. :P On the upside, I am paying for drinks today, so cheers to that.

Now, there are some people I would like to thank. The most important of these is, of course, our erstwhile Consul, and now my bottom boy, Strat. Strat has, in many ways, been the person who kept me coming back to the DB again and again. He dragged me out of retirement, pushed me into a leadership spot, and has often told me what needed to be done for me to be an effective leader. Whatever else we have to say about him, Strat cannot be faulted for his dedication to the Clan. When we needed to have our new competition (more on that, later) done, he volunteered to stay up for the night to help, and he has done so, staying up for almost forty hours to hammer out details and get everything properly arranged. He knows what a leader needs to be, and it is for that reason, and a great many others, I want him to be my Proconsul. His advice and work will be invaluable, and not even the drinks he’ll have on my costs can possibly offset what he’s already done, both for me personally and the Clan as a whole.

Many others have helped me too, along the way. You all know who you are, and I haven’t forgotten your help. Meaning, of course, that I’ll happily sell you all into indentured servitude to the Clan when the need arises. :P

On leadership, I’ve often been somewhat ambivalent. It’s one of the hardest, and most important, jobs in the Brotherhood, and it requires integrity, hard work, and most importantly love for the organization. In what is, in retrospect, an ironic event, it was Selene who first told me what a good leader is supposed to do. She mentioned four things: Awards, Competitions, Communications, and Keeping Promises. I agree to that, took to it all, and added a fifth ‘virtue of leadership’: the willingness to bust your balls for the Clan, and go to any length to make sure everything runs well.

As many leaders, I’m always open to ideas. People who strive to improve the Clan in any way are always worthy of respect, especially those who come with ideas. There is no idea crazy enough for me to not be worth considering. Put a well-defined plan together, and it all works out. The same with criticism…I have lined out what I think is important in a leader. If one of you thinks I’ve been flagging in either of those, email me.

*The News: *

I’m Consul, duh. :P

Arcona and Tarentum will ally soon. There have been a great deal of talks between top members of both Clans, and as the membership generally seems to get along quite well, we believe we may as well make it official. In character benefits will have quite a bit of information, as you will see soon.

Halcyon Rokir has returned to the DJB, with a new job as Combat Master. Dalthid himself has stepped down to become DCM.

Running competitions:

Operation: Vitriol is a-go!

Yes, starting as of this instant, Operation: Vitriol has started! It’s an exciting new set of competitions fictionalizing Strat’s leave from Consulship and helps us get ready for that GJW thing. :P

Again, several high-level medals and promos have been awarded….grats guys, you’ve definitely deserved it.

Some lazy bum got Krath Epis…think he’s called Timeros. Nothing important.

Malidir got Obelisk Prelate! For pwning the Cluster of Fire ranking until the database crashed, as well as being a Quaestor and Rollmaster to look up to for months, Malidir has now finally been awarded by raising him to the next level of power within the Brotherhood. Congratulations, Mal…you’ve earned it.

Sorry to disappoint. :P Yes, there will be one soon, but I felt getting out the competition was more important this time. Promised, it won’t happen again. :P

I’ll probably be doing a lot of reviews in a while, checking out everything and seeing what all of you think the Clan needs, and of course you’re all free to ask me what I’m planning on doing. As it stands, I believe the most important thing is to gear up for the GJW, and get the Clan both willing and able to gain ourselves a spectacular victory in there.
