CONSUL REPORT: THE STATE OF THE CLAN

Z0mg wtf? Report? Yeah, report. :P

Overall:

Lots of stuff going on…including a set date for the GJW. July 15th, one week from now, is when the GJW is to start. That means many, many things….more details on that later. In the meanwhile, I suggest we prepare ourselves. ;)

*The News: *

We’ve created a couple of Clan awards, to go together with the House and Battleteam ones…awesome, ain’t it? :P Orv is working hard to create an actual, honest-to-God award system on our website…just like the DJB one.

We also have a new website function in our Archives…the Arcona Archives are now a haven for your fictions, graphics, and basically everything you ever wanted to store there. W00t! Excellent job Orv!

Vitriol is over! It was a blast, and Strat and I have received many enjoyable fictions/GFXs/Captions/etc. Thanks a lot guys…you made me run out of printer paper. :P

Now, I would give you all the results, but there’s an unfortunate problem in the ACC…apparently, the battle limit was accidentally set at 4+2 rather than 2+2 as originally requested, meaning the fights are not yet over the way they were supposed to be. In this case, that means we need to change a few things, most importantly this: I’m requesting that everyone who still has running ACC battles finish them ASAP. Preferably, I want them all done and waiting to be judged by Wednesday. If, by then, some battles aren’t done, I will grade them provisionally myself and dole out wins/losses on that basis.

For the GJW, the system has been explained completely, finally. As such, I am now taking applications. For what? Glad you asked. :P

I want, to be blunt, team captains for each individual subject we’ll have to come up with. The job involves: coordinating the other people wanting to participate, motivating everyone by email etc, and finally trying to help out with people’s abilities to win matches.

The ones I want:

-JO/JA captain

-Misc. gaming captain

-ACC captain

-Fiction captain

-Other captain (will be GFX, puzzles, and everything not covered under the rest).

There are no specific requirements for any of this…just drop Strat and me an email. The intention is to create a comprehensive system that allows us to coordinate and focus upon specific bits. Tasks might also involve proofreading and such…if we want to win this, we need quality as well as quantity.

Finally, I’m also looking for people willing to join Strat and myself on the Arcona War Council. The job, in that, is to help decide Arcona’s actions in the wargame that will be a part of the game and, during my short leave in August, fill in for me on the decision front. Again, apply via email.

This is it, gentlemen…this is what I’ve been trying to work to ever since the Rite of Supremacy…and what many of you have been working towards as well. It’s the largest, most important, most cataclysmic event in the Brotherhood…it is, in other words, the Great Jedi War. We need to be at our most active, at our best, and at our strongest to prepare for this…some Clans have already pledged to go for drowning the Judges in submissions, hoping to kill them with an alphabet soup and thus getting points out of drivel-spam. The old adage of the monkeys and the typewriters comes to mind.

I won’t ask you to do that…just to do what you can. Put your best foot forward…strive for perfection at all things. Do as much as you can, and try to do it well…I’m not expecting literary genius from the JAers or brilliant dueling from the fiction devils out there. We all have our talents, and we’re good at what we do best. But diversifying our talents is a good thing…go for quality as well as quantity, and you can be sure to go, game for game and story for story, straight to the top of Brotherhood.

As such…try your best. Try to out-ACC Callus and me, out-fiction Zandro and Dash and out-game Mal and Strat. It’s a tall order…and it’s what I have come to expect from as active, skilled, and dedicated a group as yourself. Go in hard with the best you’ve got and shoot for the stars. Even if you don’t make it, you’ll wind up on the moon, and be able to look down upon the petty opposition.

You guys are the best.

All that remains is proving it.

None…with Vitriol there and Juke working for that, that’s not odd, so don’t complain you spoiled brats. He’s also working on a super-duper secret project for the Iron Throne, so you can instead orgasm at seeing that when it’s eventually released. :P

Conclusion:

It is time to start preparing. Time to update your Character Sheet, get your gaming into order and start writing again. We’re gonna go and give our best…we have a gaming system that allows for actual skill, a wargame that rocks, and an enormous amount of potential strength. If there ever was a time to harness it, it is now. The Championship awaits us.
