Ok, so I lied… but, there was enough here to justify a report, so I guess I can squeeze one in during the middle of the GJW.

Two Open EP Positions

One of these was anticipated, the other was not. But, both Krath Core and Sith Alchemy need new EPs. Both Lan (Krath Core) and Odin (Alchemy) have done excellent jobs and I hate to see them go, but real life beckons. So, without further ado, here are the requirements for both positions:

<li>Have passed the exam before the posting of this notice</li>

<li>Have an average e-mail turn around time of no more than 48 hours</li>

<li>Provide an answer key to the exam</li>

<li>Identify one thing about the course you like and one thing you think needs to be changed</li>

<li>There are no rank or time restrictions for this position; BubbaX and I will choose whomever we think is best suited for the position. </li>

<li>Current EPs who already grade at least two exams should not apply</li>

<li>E-mail applications to myself and BubbaX by August 12</li>

Semi-LoA

Due to work, I will be on a semi-leave of absence all next week. I’ll still be checking e-mail in the evenings, but I won’t have all my files available.

Degrees

Very shortly after becoming Praetor, BubbaX jumped into his first big project: the creation of a more open and attainable degree system. There’s still plenty of work to be done on it, but the ideas are moving. So, just be patient and we’ll keep you updated as we go along.

A Few Final Notes

1. As always, any questions or comments about the SA can come to me. E-mail is probably the best bet, but if you see me on IRC, that generally means I’m available to talk (unless the nick indicates otherwise, which is rare). I also check the SA message board from time to time.

2. Since I became HM, there have been over 4,000 exams passed. Because of the GJW, I didn’t do one of my “X000th course passed” competitions for 4,000 as I did with the previous milestones, but we’ll choose a nice round number after the GJW and run that again. It might be done in conjunction with a back to school comp (though it will be late for some)
