*Catching Up *
Even though it's been a bit since the GJW finished, I've just now really started to get back into the swing of things. There are a number of different things on my plate, that will slowly be dealt with, and I'll list a few of them in this report as well. I'd just like to thank Kraval again for his work during the GJW. Helping out in these competitions is a thankless job, but he did a massive amount of work, lessening any delays by a significant amount. I've also taken some time to make a few adjustments to the basic ACC rules for these sorts of competitions, and the next time we have another RoS/GJW, we'll see how they work out.
ACC Initiates Course
A big thanks goes out to Telona for updating the notes and exams for the ACC Initiates Course. It should now be an even larger help to all of the newer members who wish to make a Character Sheet
Staff Moves
We had another staff member leave due to RL in the form of Sai. However, we've had a number of additions to the staff since the end of the GJW. First, we welcome Kaek back to his role as judge, a position he had held under Dalthid's reign. On the trainer side we welcome new staff members in Sharad and Vexer. They have both jumped right in, and the turn-around time for all ACC-related things should be greatly improved.
Championship Ladders
First, the Piloting Championship is reaching its conclusion, with just one round remaining. Two Arconans, Juda and Zandro, will be vying for the title of Ace. There battle will be opened in the next day or two.
Also, the Championship Ladder will be open to sign-ups this coming week. This is the place to truly show off your skill, and show if you're the best ACCer around. This will also be the "final" CHL before the title of Supreme Champion opens up.
I will make a news announcement when sign-ups are open. Just remember, you have to be qualified to participate
Moving Homes
No, I'm not moving anywhere, but with the recent developments in the GJW the ACC has had to move its operations. There is a small snippet in the current Dark Voice issue concerning this, but I will work on the specifics over the course of the month, fleshing out our new location. However, all battles continue to run as normal, so nothing changes there.
Rule Change
There has been a slight change to the Time-Out Rule in the ACC. There were a number of complaints concerning it during the course of the GJW, but since we can't change rules mid-competition, I've now gone ahead and made the adjustment. The rule now reads:
Timing out a battle is a manual operation completed by the staff, thus at the mercy of their schedules
<li>If a post is made (beyond a time limit) before the staff can rate it, a time out may be reconciled by e-mailing the CM and DCM, stating a post has gone over the time-limit and putting in a link to the battle, prior to making another post
That means that there is now a way to time-out a battle, even if a post was made ater the fact. However, this is only for those who want the time-out win. If you wish to allow a battle to continue, then you don't have to do a thing
Compendium Updates
Except for the above change, nothing has yet been updated in the Compendium. However, in the coming month we will be making updates to it, so be on the look out for those. I will also make note of any changes that are made in my reports. If there are any issues you see in the Compendium itself, feel free to let me know. There is a lot of information contained within, and sometimes an update or change is needed that we've overlooked
Closing
I'm happy to see the ACC get back to a normal routine. It was a hectic month and a half, so I hope everyone is taking the time to relax and just do things they enjoy. If anyone ever has any questions or comments for me, the best place to reach me is through e-mail at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. You can also ask general questions about the ACC on this forum post. Have a great week.
In darkness,
DJM Halcyon Rokir
