Greetings all,

This week’s report is going to be somewhat short but hopefully more to the point. For those of you who haven’t noticed, I am the new Quaestor of Caliburnus. I would like to take a moment and thank Thran Occasus for all of his hard work and leadership over the past several months. House Caliburnus rose to great heights of activity and participation, and I expect to continue this grand tradition of excellence.

*House News: *

All major house projects are temporarily on hold as Yzarc and I work through the process of settling in and reevaluating the status of each project in line with our goals and plans for the house. House Caliburnus did very well in the GJW and I congratulate each and every member who took part in the events. Your efforts helped the Clan reach its second place finish. For those of you who are unhappy with Second place, remember that and fight harder in the next vendetta, and aim for First.

In particular I would like to congratulate Tyno on his tremendous achievement of earning SIX gold Novae. Our other Nova winners were Malaki who took home a gold nova, and Dante who earned himself a silver and bronze nova.

House Direction:

Where are we going?

Forward, that is our goal, and what each of us must strive for, to always keep this House moving forward. While we have a long and rich history of success, we can not allow ourselves to rest on our laurels and past glory. We must seize each day and claim every victory, every bit of glory for ourselves, at every opportunity.

How are we going to do this?

Very simple, we are getting back down to basics, and we are going to work on strengthening the House from the ground up. Each and every one of you is in a position to have a huge impact on this process. How? By participating in every opportunity we present to you. We will be having House wide competitions coming soon, and will have them every month, except when major Clan or DB wide events are taking place. My office door is always open, if you have suggestions or ideas to help the House move forward, bring them to me. I will not guarantee I will use your suggestion, but every idea will be considered and weighed for its merit and possible benefit to the House.

My job is not to make myself look good; it is to help all of you become successful within the House, Clan, and Brotherhood. I am here to guide you, and help you, it is up to you to put in the effort to accomplish what you want to accomplish.

House Plans:

I already touched on one part of our plans, that being regular competitions being available for the House. Again, if you have ideas or suggestions for competitions you would like to see, send them to me.

Also, I am planning to restructure the Souls of Darkness Battle team. We are working out the details on this, but I will be making my elite task force actually work. evil grin

The other big item on my list of plans for the House is the possible reopening of Nightmare Squadron. Now, why do I say possible reopening, and what does that mean for you? Simply this, I need to know how many of you would be interested in being a part of this Battle team. So if you would like to join Nightmare Squadron, catch me on IRC, or email me and let me know. The team will not reopen unless I have at least six active and willing members to put in it. Do not ask to be the BTL, you won’t get it. BTL will be determined once the team has members in it.

Now, why would you want to be in a Battle team? Battle teams offer a chance to learn to work closely in a smaller group; you can build friendships with the members in your team. Also, Battle teams are able to hold their own competitions that are just for the team members, so who doesn’t want a chance at even more shinies? So remember, I need to know who’s interested in joining Nightmare by the end of the week.

*Closing Thoughts: *

While I consider Caliburnus to be my house, I want you all to stop and remember, as a member of House Caliburnus, it is your house as well. Also remember by the same principle, Scholae Palatinae is your Clan. Each of you should stand up and take responsibility for your House and Clan. So what does that mean? If you want to see the House do well, if you want to see the Clan rise above all the rest, then you have to take responsibility to put in the effort to help make that happen.

If you do nothing, nothing will change, and you will accomplish just that, nothing. If you want to do great things, it is you that must do them.

One last thought I want to leave you with, Scholae Palatinae is, at its Heart, a family. Although there may be some people you don’t get along well with, just like in any family, you still should remain respectful of each other. When it is all said and done, we all are working toward the same goal, to prove that Scholae Palatinae is the best Clan in the Brotherhood. We can’t accomplish that when people are treating each other poorly, or insulting one another or trying to drag someone else down. NO ONE is perfect, remember that. Do not judge others harshly, especially if you don’t take the time to get to know them. Try sharing a smile and a kind word, instead of an insult or criticizing someone. We might be Dark Jedi, but that does not excuse being uncivilized to each other.
