Fourteen! Ah-ah-ah! (That’s my Count impression from Sesame Street :-P)

This is my fourteenth report as Quaestor which means I’ve been Quaestor for fourteen weeks. I’ve managed to get a report out every Friday (with the exception of a couple of weeks ago when I was on LOA and at Dragon Con), since I was Aedile.

It didn’t start that way. I realized I wasn’t doing reports as often as I should so I set a day of the week that I knew I could keep to and made sure to get one out. To be perfectly honest, it was Manesh’s example that got me going in the right direction. He got a report out every Saturday and maintained that for a very long time. What most people don’t realize is that these reports are more for the summit then anything else. It’s to let the people you report to know what you’ve been doing and the people you lead. Without them, we’d be stumbling around in the dark and nothing would ever get done.

So, what’s been going on with HLK? We had an AWOL check this past week and I’m disappointed. All you had to do is email me and say, “I want to stay in HLK cuz it kicks arse!” I sent this to the entire house, even the Sons of Sadow that are currently on the active roster got it, even though they are exempt from AWOL checks. Even they responded (thank you, Goat and Malik). Even Destoval, though not a Son but is still an old fart in his own right, got out of his wheel-chair and limped over to the computer to send me an email saying he wanted to say in HLK because it was still home. I admire the loyalty and commitment from our senior citizens and all you young whipper-snappers should take note of this. Those that did not respond have received one last email. If I do not hear from you by next Friday, you will be sent to the rouges, period.
