Headmaster Report

Another fun and fact filled journey to the SA

Degrees and ID Lines

The phase 3 grandfather (retroactive) period has now ended. Those of you who have your name on the list as in progress are good. I have plenty of requests to review, so please be patient. From here on out, on the three degrees currently offered, you must follow the rules listed on the wiki article: in short, the 50% rule is now in effect for everyone.

Future degrees: before we release a Dark Savant degree, we’re going to work on getting a couple more Dark Maven degrees out to the membership. We have some degrees that are close to being done, so hopefully it won’t be too far into the future.

After I post this report, I’m going to remove almost every course from the ID line. All that will remain will be any degrees that you have earned. I do this because I really can’t justify a long string of characters for the SA on the ID line.

Jac rocks…

Thanks to Jac, the Scroll of Indoctrination and Scroll of Foundation request form has been updated.

Competitions Galore

As I write this, we’re about 15 exams away from passed exam number 5000 since I became HM. The standard “X000th course passed” competition is in effect, with crescents for those members who pass exam numbers 5000 (1st), 4999/5001 (2nd), and 4998/5002 (3rd).

Secondly, coming in December/January, I’m going to be hosting a “Who Stole Christmas” event which will operate along the same lines as the murder mystery, except this time you get to blame each other for ruining Christmas and not randomly killing each other :P Teams will be free form in this event, meaning they don’t necessarily have to be clan based.

MSN EP

I’ll be frank. I only had two people apply for the open MSN position and, well, their applications need some work. So, I’m going to leave the position open for applications until I find someone. Refer to my last report for details. And if you are one of the two who applied, you CAN reapply, though you might want to beef up your applications a bit.

Trivia and Clocks

As a general reminder, the United States will be changing to Daylights Savings Time come this Sunday. I believe there is a change in the EU as well, but I’m not certain. Anyway, according to Kalak, trivia will be at 4:00 GMT this coming Sunday. I anticipate that the digital clock on the Trivia page (on the SA site) will still be accurate, but it won’t hurt to compare it with official time sites. I won’t do your homework for you.

Real Life Note

I’m off the training program, which means I’m salaried (got a nice little raise, too). Salary means I can, and undoubtedly will, work beyond the hours that my pay is based off of; this is predicated on three important facts: I hate leaving things undone, we’re entering the busiest time of the year, and I’m working at one of the busiest stores in our entire division. This is all a round about way of saying that my schedule will vary, but I do intend to remain as Headmaster.
