INTRODUCTION:

I figure it's time to do one of these again. I think this makes my twenty-fifth report as House Acclivis Draco's Quaestor. Only one hundred and twenty-five more reports to go... Hm... about 25 reports in a year... 125 / 25 = 5. I guess I have to be your Quaestor for five more years! Aren't you lucky?

In addition, I would like to say: Happy Halloween! Although it seems the number of children arriving at my door to get candy is diminishing, I hope you all had fun.

It's been awhile since I've written my last report, so there's quite a lot of stuff in here.

BROTHERHOOD NEWS:

1) A new edition of the Dark Voice was released. Find the new issue here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dv/DarkVoice_Vol5_Iss2/main.php. Also, the Dark Voice Tribune (T:DV), Derev Niroth, has resigned and the position is, as far as I am aware, still open for applications.

2) Following the Brotherhood's "Clone Amnesty" period, Justicar Kir Taldrya Katarn found three members who still had clones. Each was demoted by one rank, given an Official Letter of Reprimand, and placed on three months probation.

3) The Murder Mystery League, hosted by Headmaster Anshar Kahn Tarentae, has ended and CSP took first place! Taldryan took second and CNS took third.

4) Combat Master Halcyon Rokir has changed the way training is done in the Antei Combat Center. Training will be done within the Clans. Scholae Palatinae's Clan trainer is Kat Pridemore. DJK Vexer Thrace has been appointed to manually open training battles for CSP and Clan Plagueis while coding is still being worked on. 5) Ashura Isradia and Sephiroth Kali have been elevated to the rank of "Knight First Class" in the Society of Envoys. Congrats!

6) Shadow Academy Degrees! With the implementation of degrees, the Shadow Academy part of your ID line will ONLY show your degrees.

7) Sharad Taldrya Hett has won The Bryar Bowl with a Vengeance, thus making him a Bryar Pimp... times TWO! Congrats, Shar!

CLAN NEWS:

1) The Reclamation of Judecca is now complete! House Acclivis Draco came in first, followed closely by House Caliburnus, and House Dorimad Sol came in third. Individually, Braecen (HDS) came in first, I (HAD) came in second, and Prajna (HDS) came in third.

2) Cethgus has resigned from Commander of the Souls of Darkness battleteam in House Caliburnus. Malaki has taken his place.

3) House Caliburnus has begun "Deadly Deceptions" (http://housecaliburnus.org/DeadlyDeceptions1.html), a competition ONLY for House Caliburnus that will last for four weeks. [Excerpt from previous email:] To answer a few questions that I've received, House Acclivis Draco will not be having any "long" competitions until next month or so. I try to give you guys some breathing room before forcing you back under a wave. After all, we won Reclamation and deserve some kind of break... right?

4) DJK Syphoc Rilkel (formerly of House Acclivis Draco) has resigned from Aedile of House Dorimad Sol and DJK Malevolent Blade has been appointed his successor.

5) Seals of Loyalty have been awarded! Congratulations to the other CSPers who earned a Seal this time around (as Cooch noted, six out of seven of Scholae Palatinae's recipients were present/former HAD members).

6) Props to the other Scholae Palatinae member that participated in The Bryar Bowl: Angelo Dante. Perhaps one of us will win The Bryar Bowl... one day...

7) In case you didn't know, DP Kaine Mandaala is Scholae Palatinae's new Clan Envoy!

HOUSE NEWS:

1) So, we busted the other Houses' egos in our stunning victory in the Reclamation of Judecca. We blew their mind! Thank you to those who participated in at least one event - your contributions and efforts set the House on the road to proving our dominance. In the words of Caliburnus' Aedile, Yzarc Rellik Kaeth: "I hate to say it, but Acclivis Draco did a really good job coming from third to take first."

2) In other news, Cooch and I are planning two "larger" competitions within the next five months for you guys to play with. By the way, if you haven't read his most recent report (http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/comments.asp?ID=R:10600), be sure to read it.

3) As one of his Knight Trials, Kalak Ragnose is hosting a House-wide competition entitled "Hunt of Fun" (http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/CompetitionDetails.asp?ID=2999) that is a simple, five-item webhunt. Please help Kalak by spamming his email inbox with entries!

4) Following up the Seals of Loyalty note, congrats to Kalak and Impetus on earning this prestigious award! Both of you have earned it.

5) We had lots of people earn medals since my last report: Cooch, Yeldarb, Timbal, Anga, Gavan, Tra'an, Uzbad, Impetus, Natth, and Kalak. Congratulations, everyone!

6) As far as the new Order of the Dragon member, I will get to that in the coming week. There is still a large group of several prospective nominees that I need to whittle down. ;)

HOUSE DIRECTION:

We rock.

It is now undeniable that we are the best House in Scholae Palatinae. We proved our dominance, our supremacy, our superiority, over the other Houses... again. We are the champions and no one can tell you otherwise.

Our comeback for Reclamation was... miraculous. It was completely unexpected, unpredicted, and it happened. I would just like to take this section of my report and thank everyone who participated. You all helped prove, yet again, that House Acclivis Draco is the Numero Uno of Clan Scholae Palatinae. I mean, after being dead last for three weeks, and then coming back and winning... it's hard to describe the feeling I got when I read Lucien's results email for the third time. Excitement? Pride? Joy? Relief? I'm not really sure, but I'm certain that Cooch, and everyone else in our glorious House, felt it too.

Which brings me to my next point: Pride.

Every member in this House should be proud that they are a part of House Acclivis Draco, and ultimately Clan Scholae Palatinae. It is your contributions, your participation, your drive and motivation, your influence and power, that makes this House what it is. You should be proud, immensely proud, that you helped House Acclivis Draco become shaped into one of the most formidable Houses of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. I'm pretty sure that we are a more cohesive, tight-knit, amicable, active, and awesome House than most, if not all, of the other Houses.

Because of this fact, you should be proud of our House, our achievements, and our friendships.

Which follows into my next question for all of you: Loyalty.

I brought this point up in a previous report, and I would like to hit upon it again. I received a few excellent answers before, and those answers helped me on my quest for an answer. This is a question that has, and continues, to stump me.

To what should a member of of the Brotherhood be loyal?

Should we be loyal to a House? Or to the Clan that houses us? To the entire Brotherhood that unites all of the Clans together under one banner?

Or is it something less physical, less tangible? Should we be loyal to the ideals that Acclivis Draco represents, should we be loyal to friendship and camraderie? Should we be loyal to the unity that binds all members of the Brotherhood together?

It's a tricky question.

Personally, I am leaning more towards loyalty to House Acclivis Draco. Although I wish for the betterment of the entire Clan and the entire Brotherhood, House Acclivis Draco has been my home for nearly my entire career in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. I have felt its pain and disappointment; along with its gladness and... pride.

Think about it for a bit, especially for you older members. Think about it. You don't have to share your answer, but if you want to, I'm not one to stop the desires of my friends.

  • Ludus and Servus

"Ludus" means "game" or "school" in Latin (ironic, isn't it?) and "servus" means "servant" or "slave". That's right, you are all my slaves! Muahaha! :P More details on this project to be released later.
