<p>So ends the month of January - typically a slow month around these parts with school resuming but things should start picking up soon(ish). Tarax will be releasing a House fiction competition - a fairly short one - while I'll be releasing a competition or two myself. These are geared towards our Journeymen although anyone of course is free to participate for credit and crescents.

<p>As I've mentioned before in about a month or so we'll be putting on a House Feud within the Clan - basically it is a mini Vendetta where you can wrack up points and Crescents before the Rite of Supremacy (see my closing comments!) and will basically get us warmed up. Not that we need much effort to beat the other Clans but preparation never hurts.

<p>If you haven't noticed the DJB website got a major face lift courtesy of Jac and the staff of the SCL office. Be sure to switch your interface to the "Taldryan" one so you can get some Taldryan-specific links on the homepage for easy navigation. This design rocks but since it is new it can have bugs and problems - be sure to e-mail Jac and the SCL with any errors you come across. Keep in mind the site is best viewed in Firefox browser so if you don't have it I heavily recommend you get it.

<p>Everyone's favorite Mandalore (/sarcasm) got hit with a Letter of Reprimand along with the ex-Tribune of the DBPA (Yeldarb). Basically they acted like idiots and got smacked by the Chamber of Justice. I know, I know, "IT AINT [MY] CONSERN!!!"

<p>Wrapping up the news for this report - there are a few competitions running right now that you might want to check out. There are a few DJB-wide fiction comps (hosted by Raken) along with some graphics stuff. Clan-wise ... some sort of Table Tennis comp ... not sure what exactly that is but whatever. Some CTF stuff, and don't forget to write up humorous articles for the next Taldryan Times! Time to make this year the best ever! If you want details just bug a summit member on IRC.

<p>You saw the e-mail - Dark Fire Brigade is now closed. Honestly I've been wanting to close it for a while now but Halc did a great job as Battleteam Leader so we kept it open. With the last few newbies being AWOL'd there was little sense in keeping it open. If we get a good influx of newbies who actually show signs of life, we may re-open it. Until then, whatever.

<p>"The Resurrection of Dominus Sicarius" which is a new competition running for the next three months at least. Our older members may remember this tradition of Dinaari but for our newer members all the information you need can be found on Dinaari's website right here. I've sent out information about it via the e-group but it basically boils down to the most active person in the House gets not only a Crescent, but the honor of being inducted into the elite ranks of Dinaari and earning themselves a silver-plated Bryar Pistol. So far the activity level this month is low so if you put in a small concentrated amount of effort you could win this very prestigious honor!

<p>In the award department we have several things ... first, congratulations to Liku who earned his promotion to Novice. Congrats! Halcyon Rokir earned himself two merit awards - a Dark Cross for assisting with the new website layout and an Anteian Cross for leading Dark Fire Brigade as long as he did ... both are well deserved. Vicar also passed two Shadow Academy courses (the specific ones are irrelevant).

<p>A handful of newbies were sent to the Rogues (inactive list) because they didn't feel like doing anything. It happens - we'll have punch and pie to celebrate their ... well whatever. Punch and pie for everyone.

<p>So we know there are a lot of idiots on the internet - I personally want a real life internet certification exam for people to use the internet but we can't have everything. While I hear the next TT should have a lot of good stuff in it I stumbled across this interesting quote on IRC today that I thought was worth sharing:

<p>"Like I said, I want all the clans to ally against Taldryan. I want all the clans to form an an alliance, and tell the DC to total our points together against Taldryan. If the DC says no, the allied clans refuse to participate." - Random idiot

<p>Now it is difficult to determine if he was joking or not but if he wasn't ... well, it's time to get off the computer for this member. Maybe get some fresh air. If he was - well I don't think he was but it just shows how awesome Taldryan is. Taldryan is not invincible (almost!) but if the other idiot Clans would actually motivate their members enough to last an entire Vendetta than they might actually beat us for a change. Instead they waste their effort on fruitless schemes because they can't stand losing all the time. So damn amusing.

<p>As always, I have to plug getting on IRC. It's no secret that those who get on IRC and talk with their fellow Clan members are far more likely to succeed and get ahead in the club than those who don't get on IRC.
