Members of Clan Plagueis,

Another week has sped past us, but I would like to think it was a productive step forward for our small community. We have said goodbye to two of our Aediles, but new opportunities have arisen in the Clan with the openings. Already, I have seen multiple applications for our vacant positions and believe that we will get a healthy infusion of dedication and talent in our Clan Leadership Team once we fill both of these vacant positions. But this is not all that has happened in our Clan, nor should it be the sole focus.

Clan News

In addition to accepting applications for the Aedile positions of House Exar Kun and House Satal Keto. There have been some interesting discussions and changes in our Clan this week. But, before we dig into those, I want to remind everyone that should you wish to apply for one of our vacant leadership positions, please send your applications to myself ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), Ky ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), Cipher ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) and Kal ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]).

IRC Operators Policy Change. For those of you whom have visited us on our IRC channel (#plagueis) lately, you may have noticed a dramatic change. We have gone from a Strict-Ops Policy to an All-Ops Policy with our leadership being given a very powerful X-access Level. This means that individuals will be held to a higher standard, especially our leaders, concerning how they utilize their privileges. You should only use this privilege to give Operator status to your fellow Clansmen. Leave it to your leaders to issue De-Ops, Kicks and Bans. Failure to abide by this rule will result in permanent ban to Operator Status in our channel.

And... no more scripts. While scripts are helpful in smaller, private channels, they will not help us police our own Channel. There will be, with time, certain individuals whom will abuse their powers/status and we must ensure that we govern our channel intelligently.

Clan Identity. I've put a question to our leaders already and they seem to agree that we need to develop a stronger sense of Clan Identity. So I pose the question to you all (and would like your individual responses; preferably to my e-mail address) what would you like our Clan's theme to be? Some have expressed an interest in nobility, others have suggested that a Military Clan might be fun to role play... some have suggested Shadow Operations. Fictionally, it is a big world, but identifying what we want to be will give us a huge step in a direction towards deepening, and immersing ourselves, in a fictional world. Brotherhood News

Herald Report: The chief artists of the Dark Brotherhood has issued a report on the total amount of work his office has completed. This includes a dozen or so custom lightsabers, war banners and random images. He also touches on Custom Robes for three lucky individuals.

Deputy Grand Master Report: Lots of new images for the ever expanding project list. The DGM also poses the question whether or not you would like see more images of females in dark jedi garb. Be sure to check it all out in his latest installment.

Tribune: Gaming Updates: The Dark Adept Shadow has released a news post concerning the February Gaming Competition. It is a great way to show people that Clan Plagueis is active and I encourage you all to check it out and participate.

The Message

Activity. It is the lifeblood of the Brotherhood and our Clan. Each individual should strive to be as active as they can, as they should strive to be contributing members of the Clan - of our team. You see, it is as a team that our victories are sweeter and our defeats are softened. It is as a team that we succeed together and fail together. So it is as a group that we must fight alongside one another and know that when the battle is over we can look into our fellow Clansmen in the eyes and say, "I gave it my all."

So we are under a social contract to one another. That contract means that we give certain privileges up for the greater good of our clan. One such sacrifice we make is the decision to 'idle' or be an inactive body on the Clan roster. We must, at the very least, make an effort to participate in every available competition opportunity at the Clan and House level. And for those whom already possess a lightsaber or belong to the Equite Class... you should participate at the Brotherhood Level with pride and honor for your Clan.

And we must be active, but not at the cost of Honor. When you are out battling on our Clan's behalf, you must hold the convictions of fair play that I hold. We will never succumb to cheating or a poor attitude. We hold our heads up high when we lose and we congratulate those we beat - on a well played match - when we win. That is the standard we are held to. That is the standard I hold you all to.

THE FIN

There are two new competitions available from my office. One involves writing a humorous story about trying to off me and collect a bounty. The other is an open write fiction where you can depict any event that has happened to your character; bonus points for relating it to events occurring in the Brotherhood.

Last, make sure you consider what you want this clan to be - actually and fictionally - and send me a response privately. We can do great things, but it will all spark from the ideas that you folks have and express to your leadership. But first you all have to trust me to act on your behalf and I can only do that when you speak to me about your vision for our clan.
