House Dinaari Quaestor Report #11 - February 23, 2008

Greetings all,

<p>February 2008 is drawing to a close and I must say it was a productive month. House Dinaari has seen a very large increase in activity over the past several weeks which is always good to see. I hope everyone keeps up the excellent work in the coming weeks because I hear there is something called the "Independence Games" coming out. The history of this is that all the other Clans were crying over over Taldryan's continued Vendetta dominance and created the "Independence Games" so they could say they won something. Charming. At any rate this an opportunity to shut them up for at least a little bit longer until they come down with the bi-annual delusions that they'll win the next Vendetta. Right.

<p>If you haven't noticed by now I suppose I can remind you. House Archanis has been closed and their members have been distributed between the two remaining Houses in the Clan. I'm sure the other Clans think this is the start of a Taldryan downfall but honestly its just easier this way for all - Crix did a good job over there some things are inevitable. Because this boosted our House numbers I will be trimming the fat (so to say) at the end of the month. I have been sending out AWOL check e-mails to various members and our roster will shrink a little bit to make everything more manageable. On the bright side we've had a lot of new active members to make up for it so everything is working out nicely.

<p>Both Muz (the Deputy Grand Master) and Halcyon (the Combat Master) have released reports which can be found on the main DJB news page. If you haven't been paying attention this was Halc's last CM report as his replacement will (hopefully) be appointed within the next week. Halc did an incredible job as Combat Master and while we're sad to see our Dark Council-esque Staff numbers diminish we are more than happy to have him dedicate more time to his home Clan.

<p>At the end of this month (February) I will be reviewing my activity record books and be recommending a bulk amount of medals and/or promotions - so if you think you've been active enough to merit an award and want to bump it up, this is the time to be active! Currently there are several lower-ranked members on the verge of earning promotions but they need to put in a little extra effort to make the bump! Don't get left behind!

<p>Remember I have a banner competition going on that ends on Friday - a five minute MS paint job will do the trick. I also suggest you complete a bunch of SA courses to get a chance at snagging a Crescent. Don't forget Tarax's fiction competition which is a BEYOND EASY way to get a Crescent. Next month I will have some more competitions (of various types) for you all to engage in.

<p>House Dinaari and Clan Taldryan proudly recognize the following individuals on their recent honors ...

<p>The most important recognition this week goes out to our Aedile, Tarax Eosphoros Kor. Tarax was recently elevated to rank of Obelisk Prelate for his long standing dedication to Clan Taldryan in addition to his amazing performance as Aedile of House Dinaari. Most members can only dream of reaching the Equite ranks and Tarax has just gotten to the second tier. If you haven't already I suggest you give him a well deserved congratulations. Tarax also snagged a Legion of the Scholar for taking 1st place in the e-mail edition of Tal Trivia.

<p>One of our newer members, Corax "Baron" Zarjin has been pretty active since joining. His dedication to the Clan has earned him an elevation to the rank of Guardian in addition to earning twenty-two (22) Clusters of Fire for multi-player gaming. He also passed the Leadership Studies course over at the Shadow Academy. Congratulations!

<p>Another new member, Jen Derriphan, has been busy and was elevated to the rank of Novice for showing the usual basic joining activity. We look forward to his continued progress ...

<p>I (Vladet Xavier) earned a Steel Cross for being a kickass Quaestor and such. I was also appointed as a Magistrate to the Grand Master for some odd reason. Whatever works, right?

<p>It's been a great month so far for both Dinaari and Taldryan. Our members are active and we have several great new members who are demonstrating great potential. Our Clan has never been stronger and we're ready to crush the other Clans in whatever is thrown at us. If you need ideas on what to do to get ahead, you can always send me an e-mail or ask me on IRC - I'll be more than glad to put you to work.

<p>As always I recommend getting on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to talk with your fellow Taldryan members (and the rest of the DJB if you so choose). For our Journeymen there is a wealth of competitions going on right now so if you want to get ahead start participating! Your rank is determined solely by you. Have a great week!
