House Dinaari Quaestor Report #14 - April 5th, 2008

Greetings all,

Yet another month has gone by and I must say Dinaari's overall activity has been impressive. Since December we have been seeing more activity from more people which is always a good sign. Your hard work does not go unnoticed - promotions are given out as soon as they are earned and merit medals are typically awarded once every two or three months unless there is a major competition (i.e. Vendetta). With the upcoming Independence Games I will bundle all of your activity coupled together with your IG activity which can result in some very handsome awards, if you're willing to put in the work.

The Independence Games celebrate the Brotherhood's separation (and obviously independence) from the Emperor's Hammer, an online Star Wars organization similar to our own (only based on the Imperial Navy rather than Dark Jedi). Many DJB members used to belong to the EH (myself included) until someone named Astatine began taking control of the organization. Eventually his management style caused the DJB to break free and become the organization it is today - in the years after the "Exodus" the EH began to fall apart as more and more members fled from Astatine's misguided wrath. This year's Games mark the 5th anniversary of the Exodus in which not only do we move into the fictional year of 29 ABY, but also Seals of Loyalty are awarded and the exclusive "Silver Sash" is given to an outstanding member of the DJB. I didn't mean to bore you, but it doesn't hurt to know a little background information I think.

With the Independence Games happening soon, I encourage all members of the House (and Clan) to give as much as you can. While Taldryan does not place the IGs on the same level as Vendettas, you should still give what you can. I know many Journeymen are interested in leadership positions within the Clan but unlike the other Clans, leadership in Taldryan has to be earned. Every member of the Clan Summit (AEDs, QUAs, PCON, CON) has proven their worth through being active, especially when it counts. If you're looking for something good to add to your resumé or want a big promotion or award, I heavily recommend you get ready to push yourself. Tarax and I both understand that real life always comes first but if you can contribute than I recommend that you do. As you may have noticed both Tarax and myself will be around a tad less than month than usual because we both have very serious final exams that need our attention. Things will still get done just expect less IRC presence from us and probably slower e-mail turnaround. I should be back to full strength on the 21st.

If you have not done so already you NEED to register an account at Tal.net - it takes one or two minutes tops and really helps everyone out. If you were registered for the old website you still need to re-register for this new one.

I already sent out an e-mail about this but Jerse was selected as House Dinaari's first Intern. There was a fair amount of interest in the position which means we'll probably run it again in June. Jerse was also selected as the Dominus Sicarius for the month of March so well done to him. All Crescents for Dinaari competitions have been awarded (see 'awards' section) so well done to those who have placed.

In Brotherhood news there's been some activity. Our very own Kaek resumes his post as the Master-At-Arms which sadly means he leaves us but at least quality control remains in the MAA office. Kraval was promoted to the rank of Sith Warlord (Equite4) for his hard work and hopefully once his real life becomes stable he'll rejoin us here in Dinaari.

The Fiction Tribune has released a new report which you should check out since it contains his competition results and gives information about new ones for the month. Three new members were chosen for the CoJ Appeals Panel (names irrelevant), and Character Histories are working again. I myself have released new competitions for the month of April although not as many due to the upcoming Independence Games.

House Dinaari and Clan Taldryan proudly recognize the following individuals on their recent honors ...

The big news is that Shadow Taldrya has been promoted to the very prestigious rank of Dark Jedi Master, a rank few could ever hope to reach. Shadow earned the promotion for displaying tremendous activity on behalf of Taldryan during the past few Vendettas as well as his great work as Gaming Tribune.

Taigikori Aybara was promoted to the rank of Jedi Hunter for consistent activity since rejoining the Clan from the Rogues about a month ago. He is well on the road to being Knighted which has included participation in a large variety of different things. Taig also earned a Dark Maven - History degree, and Crescents w/ Sapphire, Topaz, Quartz, and Emerald (x2) Stars. He also snagged thirty-three (33) Clusters of Fire for gaming. Overall, a very productive week.

Clusters of Fire were also given to Havoc (x3) and Tarax (x3) for their gaming activity. Crescents were also awarded to the following individuals for their competition activity: Havoc (Sapphire, Emerald), Jerse (Sapphire, Emerald x2), Ben (Topaz), Sidarace (Topaz), and Baron (Topaz).

There's not much else to say that I haven't already. The Independence Games will be upon us soon so if you want to get ahead they are a perfect opportunity to do so. Don't kill yourself if you don't have to (we prefer that you do that during a Vendetta) but let's give it a great effort anyway. Be sure to check out the new competition offerings and as always get on IRC. Despite my lackluster presence for the next two weeks I am always available.

As always I recommend getting on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to talk with your fellow Taldryan members (and the rest of the DJB if you so choose).
