House Dinaari Quaestor Report #16 - April 18th, 2008

Greetings all,

<p>Yes yes, another report from yours truly. Tarax is still pretty much on total leave until Monday so I'll be doing the report once again. It's a tad early - this I know - but since I will be gone all of Saturday and most of Sunday I figured it was best just to get it done now before I head home for break. I'm officially back from my exam survival mode and even though I'll be on "vacation" for the next two weeks my online time shouldn't really suffer too much from it.

<p>The "biggest" news of the week is that those awesome Independence Games are currently running. There's about three weeks remaining to participate in one of the 30+ events and while the organization for the Games have been less than stellar you should still put forth some effort, especially Journeymen. This your chance to do a (somewhat) major event and go wild - I'm not advocating that you do every one of those first eight fictions (God forbid) but putting in a little effort will go a long way to securing your next promotion or a decent merit medal. I assume a ton of Crescents will also be handed out at the end. Be sure to CC our Consul (Halc) with your entries since he's the one keeping track of things. I'm not so you don't have to send them to me.

<p>Honestly there isn't that much else to report this week. I know many people are busy finishing up school for the term so things are kind of quiet ... no major House or Clan news to speak of. The only thing I can recommend is that you participate in a few Independence Games events since you'll earn Seals (rare medals) for event participation and it shows me you're alive. Also, if the IGs are too craptastic for your taste, Raken - the Fiction Tribune - has several fiction competitions running for all members. Finally, I'm holding a few House level competitions for you to partake in that haven't gotten very many entries. Easy Crescents and comp participation credit if you get involved. I suggest you do so (details below).

<p>If you haven't realized it yet, the Exodus Edition of the Taldryan Times has been released! While smaller than other issues this one is still full of great articles and humor so give it a glance if you haven't already done so. If you're interested in contributing send submissions to myself, Duga, and Halc. While you're at Tal.net be sure to register for the website if you haven't already - everyone's doing it!

<p>House Dinaari and Clan Taldryan proudly recognize the following individuals on their recent honors ...

<p>A ton of Clusters of Fire were awarded to House Dinaari members over the past week so well done to Taigikori (x53), Sidarace (x14), Havoc (x8), and myself (x3) for showing gaming prowess. Remember that the gaming section of the Independence Games has over 30 events so play your heart out if you feel like it. Making more busywork for Shadow is always a good thing!

<p>The big award(s) this week goes to that damned Buffalo Hunter ... yes, the one and only Grand Master Jac Cotelin who earned not only one, but 12 Steel Crosses for putting in well over 200 hours worth of coding into the DJB website. Pretty soon a new medal is going to have to come out just to accompany this legendary guy.

<p>Again, not much to report this week. I assume if this report were to be released tomorrow night that maybe there'd be a little bit more meat to it but whatever. Participate in the Independence Games and earn yourself a Seal of Alliance or two along with some Crescents. For those of you sitting at the rank of Jedi Hunter this a great opportunity to gain a lot of ground towards your Dark Jedi Knight promotion so I suggest you take advantage of it since we won't have a Vendetta until probably the end of summer. I know most of the events suck - we all know this - but do a few that you like and maybe participate in the Dinaari competitions that are running.

<p>As always I recommend getting on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to talk with your fellow Taldryan members (and the rest of the DJB if you so choose). For our Journeymen there is a wealth of competitions going on right now so if you want to get ahead start participating! Your rank is determined solely by you. Have a great week!
