Report #3 – April 27th, 2008

• Some sad news this week, as Vodo has decided to step-down from his position as AED of Ektrosis. RL gets to all of us, and he has been a wonderful compliment to Sklib in the House. His leadership will be missed, and I hope he can return to full activity quickly

• In keeping with the above statement, applications are now open for Aedile in Ektrosis. Sklib released full details of what he expected, so if interested then please apply. This is the first position to become open since I’ve become Consul, so now’s a good time to “impress” me as well. Remember, all applications should have “AED Application – Name” in the subject and be sent directly to Sklib, cc’ing myself and Chaos as well

• We have a few new members in the Clan, so I’d like to welcome Kelroy, Vorhuan and Bran Redmow to Taldryan!

• A shout-out to Taigikori for placing first in last week’s ICTE. It’s also wonderful to see those promotions come through, so congratulations go out to Batmanual, Adrian Agrippa, Destiny, Jendan and Xiphos!

• I would just like to take a moment and thank Duga once more. The Kr’Tal server for JA was taken down recently as we have more than enough servers for JA, allowing Duga to save up some money. However, he was graciously hosting it for the DB for quite awhile, and I’d like to thank him for those efforts!

• The Independence Games ( http://independencegames.stormraven.org/independencegames/IG08/index.html) are still going strong. Not including gaming, our top submitters are Vlad, Taigikori and Tirano. There is still plenty of time to submit, so try out some events! Remember, Seals are being given out, so you don’t want another empty medal slot sitting on your dossier, do you? I have also heard that some Clans are getting scared of our gaming activity. It would be a wonderful thing to win the IGs, just to show the DB we can win at anything, so for you gamers out there who haven’t really been getting involved, try your hand out

• In a few days I will be getting a new computer, so I may be out of it for a day or two in between the changes (since I don’t have a ton of free time to get things set up). However, it also means I should be able to help out a little in the gaming department

• We have begun plans for the next Taldryan Times, the tentative date being late May or early June. Feel free to get any and all submissions into Duga and myself. Everything from funny quotes to interviews or general articles are accepted. Top 3 submissions will receive crescents!

• The MAA has released a lengthy report, but something everyone should take the chance at reading since everything that MAA does will eventually touch upon all members of the club. And as always, remember that the Kaek is a lie

• The GM released a bunch of polls, and you should be able to vote in them still. If you haven’t, log into the DB site and check out the polling center

• HM released some news, as well as announced the winners of his competition. A huge congrats go out to Jerse for winning it all!

Chaos and I are currently planning out a small Tal competition, pitting the two Houses against one another, while also fleshing out one of the systems we control. Be on the look for that in the early summer.

Also, this week there were 3 SW comic issues released, so if you’re reading them then go pick them up.

It’s been a quiet week, but I am thrilled to see many of you getting into the thick of things and competing on behalf of the Clan. All of us notice your efforts, and they will be rewarded.

On the personal side of things, I am really looking forward to the new computer, which will allow me to do other computer things then just go on IRC :P I should be able to help out more in the gaming areas, as well as just have more fun myself. Good times for all.
