House Dinaari Quaestor Report #21 - July 12th, 2009

Greetings all,

You should all know by now that the Clan Feud is currently running until the end of the month. This is a fairly big competition that pits us against House Ektrosis in a battle for bragging rights. Not only are bragging rights up for grabs, but lots of medals and possibly promotions are on the table, too. Here's the thing though ... you need to participate in order to earn the goods. Given the wide nature of this particular competition there should be something for everyone - and even if some events don't really interest you they most likely only take 10-20 minutes worth of effort to put in a decent submission.

Basically this a warm-up for the next Great Jedi War. Clan Taldryan has never lost a Great Jedi War since it was founded and we intend to keep that streak going for a very long time. This requires effort from everyone within the House so we can come out on top - plus I like being able to give you guys a lot of rewards for your hard work. Submissions have been a little on the light side so far but I hope this changes. After the Feud is over I don't want anyone coming up to me and asking what they need to do to get promoted if you had the opportunity to participate in this competition. There are no excuses. I understand many people are busy and are probably enjoying their summer but putting in a little effort for this won't kill you. I recall our very own Grand Master Jac Cotelin studying like hell for the bar exam (aka the most difficult exam most people could ever take in their lives) and he was STILL able to be a Hero of the last Great Jedi War.

If you need help on anything please don't hesitate to ask myself or Kraval ... or even Chaos and Halc if you can't get in contact with us. So you've probably also noticed that we have a new Aedile - congratulations to Sith Warlord Kraval Novir, the former Master-At-Arms of the Dark Council. I received a lot of excellent applications for the position but ultimately I needed someone who knew the ropes of the Brotherhood like the back of their hand for this House Feud and my own time constraints (see end of report). Tarax should be back as Aedile in early September. So far Krav has done a great job getting things started and don't be discouraged if you applied for Aedile - in this Clan getting a leadership post is no easy feat.

So I'm sure there's other news. My easter egg competition is still running so be sure to scour this report to find something amiss. There is a DJB Fantasy Football league starting up, and the ACC is looking for a few more trainers. In terms of staff changes, Angelo Dante is the new Gaming Tribune, Bloodfyre (the "misunderstood" guy) is the new Combat Master, and RevengeX is the (kinda') new Wiki Tribune. Oh, and CNS is pulling an Arcona and recruiting from other Clans by posting Quaestor applications on the DJB news page. I myself am thankful to be in Taldryan where our members apparently are capable of running our own Clan without getting outside help. Oh well.

House Dinaari and Clan Taldryan proudly recognize the following individuals on their recent honors ...

Not much going on this week in terms of awards due to it being the middle of the month. Keep in mind that there will be major awards given out for Clan Feud participation. Nevertheless I do have some things to announce. Also, I guess Seals from the Independence Games are coming out somewhat soon. Stay tuned.

First, our very own Benevolent received an Anteian Cross for his work on quickly making a website for the Clan Feud. Newcomer Ryuzaki Lawlet passed two very important Shadow Academy exams: ACC Initiates and Brotherhood Basics. Ryuzaki also was promoted to the rank of Acolyte so congratulations to him. It's always good to see our newer members get ahead.

We also have several new arrivals into the House this past week. First is Obenobieone who joins us from the Shadow Academy. The next two transfered in from the Rogues - an Apprentice, Yolliath Korren, and someone who's been here a few times before but can't stay on our roster because he keeps vanishing. Welcome back (again) to Ebola Koon - let's see how long he lasts this time.

So these are busy times! I still have to encourage you to participate in the Clan Feud because nothing else matters until the end of the month. I'll be putting in everything I can but I will be very busy starting in about two weeks - I'll be wrapping up my first year of law school and have to get into "finals mode" where I'll be doing nothing but studying and writing up a major research paper. I'll still be around but I may not have the best turn-around times in terms of communication. We'll see, I guess. After finals I'll be out of contact for a few days as I take a well deserved vacation; Kraval will take care of everything. More on this later if need be.

To finish up I recommend getting on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to talk with your fellow Taldryan members (and the rest of the DJB if you so choose).
