House Dinaari Quaestor Report #23 - August 2nd, 2008

Greetings all,

<p>The biggest news this week is that our Clan Feud, Swift Justice, has ended. Results should be announced within the next two or three days (if not sooner) so keep a watch for a mail from Halc. I don't know exactly if we'll win or not, but I feel good about our chances. Regardless of the outcome, I wish to thank everyone in Dinaari who submitted an entry for any of the individual and team events. Crescents will be awarded to everyone who placed in the individual events, and anyone who submitted some ideas for the Battleplan will receive a 5th Level Crescent.

<p>It has been two months since merit medals were last handed out. Once the final Feud results are tallied and announced, Kraval and I will be going through our activity records and will be recommending merit medals to those who displayed an adequate amount of activity over the past two months. Who knows, we may also see a promotion or two. Again, my thanks to everyone who participated in the Feud - your efforts will not be forgotten.

<p>You may have noticed that it has been a while since we've had an Intern. I have decided to push the Intern spot back; instead of running the Internship every other month, we will run it once every three months. Things are slow in the summer anyway, so we'll resume the Intern program either at the start of September or October. I will let you know well ahead of time so interested parties can prepare their applications.

<p>Wrapping up the House/Clan news, there won't be any House-level competitions run this month (August). Normally there are at least two comps running on the House-level during any given month, but this month we're holding back. This is mostly because (1) we just had the Feud and a lot of people are probably burnt out, myself included; and (2) people are probably going to want and try to enjoy the last bit of their summer break before school. In addition I have law school finals starting on the 11th and ending on the 15th. This will take up a considerable amount of my time, plus I'll be on "vacation" for two weeks after that. Kraval will also be busy. Don't worry, there will be plenty of DJB-level competitions running if you want to be active. Plus you can always game, do the ACC, etc.

<p>Not much else going on. Brotherhood news is kind of slow - Kir is holding a CoJ course competition for 3rd level Crescents so if you've been waiting to take the CoJ exam - god forbid - now is a decent time to take it. RevengeX, the Wiki Tribune, posted a long report. Apparently you can get Dark Side Scrolls for publishing a "Featured Article" on the DJB Wiki. If you want a good example of awesomeness, just take a look at my own character page.

<p>One of our newer members, HangTime, passed the ACC Initiates Exam which is one of the more critical SA exams to complete. Well done to him.

<p>Not much else to say. The only other thing of interest is that I recently conducted the monthly AWOL check; we had three members removed due to inactivity and lack of communications. Further, two members transferred to the Rogues; our very own Swiper, who is getting married. Congrats to him! Hopefully he'll be back. Also, Debric got tired of Star Wars and left. Best of luck to everyone in their future endeavors.

<p>Also, just a little side note. While our House numbers may seem smaller than others in the Brotherhood, keep in mind we actually run AWOL checks to remove the dead weight. If every unit in the Brotherhood ran similar checks, I'm sure at least one Clan would be closing. Not a big deal, but I thought it best to inform you of this little tidbit before your imagination runs wild.

<p>To finish up I recommend getting on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to talk with your fellow Taldryan members (and the rest of the DJB if you so choose). For our Journeymen there is a wealth of competitions going on right now so if you want to get ahead start participating! Your rank is determined solely by you. Have a great week!
