Report #8 – August 4th, 2008

• The Clan Feud is over! Results should be out in the next day or so, so keep your eyes peeled for that announcement. Thank you to everyone who managed to participate. While I know it could have been a lot better, those who did participate will be rewarded for their efforts by your Houses.

• With every large competition I like to really delve into how things went, picking out what went well, what was bad and generally ensure that I learn from each one. That being said, I’d love to hear from everyone on their thoughts. What did you like? What was hated? Where do you think things could have been improved? • Since we’ve just had the IGs and then a Clan Feud back-to-back, we’re going to dial back the activities for August so that everyone has a chance to relax the rest of the summer. I will be releasing a couple of small competitions later this month, and as always there are a number of DB-wide competitions to participate in.

• Big congrats go out to Taig for earning himself a Steel Cross for all of his work with the SA

• Welcome back to the Clan, Smitrock, who’s been away for awhile.

• Vodo decided to update my Report headers. <3 Vodo

• Congrats go out to Raken on getting SWL. He’s done a lot as both T:F and just the guy in charge of the DB’s “Fictional Reality”, so it’s well deserved.

• There was a T:Wiki, HM and HRLD report released this week, so check them out to find out the latest from those offices

• There’s a competition out for who can be the 50th person to pass the CoJ course. It is by far the hardest course to take and pass, but doing so makes you one of the rare few, so good luck!

• If you plan on doing any training or qualifying in the ACC, try and choose one of the Trainers who doesn’t have a lot of matches going on as it will probably get you through things quicker

• There’s a 3-way Feud going on that we all need to know the rules about. Sure! Oh, and we’re still waiting on the final-final IG results…just saying :P

As I mentioned at the top, the results for our Clan competition should be out shortly. Just waiting on a few more scores and then we’re good to go. My thanks go out to Ben for his coding skillz, Chaos for his continued failure (and grading) as well as to Kir who’s our guest grader for the RO! Now’s a good time to enjoy the rest of the summer and gear up for the coming fall. I’ll eve be on vacation later this month, going to Vancouver for about a week and taking in the sights

Just want to briefly touch upon an important part of the general DB life: Communication. None of us are all-knowing or all-seeing, but sometimes it’s assumed we are. As leaders, we want to ensure everyone is having fun and enjoying themselves. However, we’re also sometimes the last people to know when problems occur because no one ever mentions anything until the last minute when it all blows up.

If anyone ever has any questions, concerns or needs to get some feedback on anything, please feel free to contact any of the Clan leaders, including myself and Chaos. We can’t solve problems if we don’t know about it and 99% of the problems that do crop up can be solved easily, if we’re kept in the loop. If we all work together then any drama that may occur will be kept to a minimum, and we can all continue having some fun.
