[MC-80 Renegade, 1130 hours, corridor 16-B-2]

An older gentleman dressed in a New Republic second lieutenant's uniform followed behind a younger human lieutenant and a Mon Calamari captain. The three were moving cautiously down a dark corridor on an unfamiliar ship, weapons at the ready. Their expressions were grim, knowing that the weapons with which they were armed would be completely ineffective against the foes they were about to face.

"Apollo," said Scion, "I need to hold up for a few minutes. It's time for my report." Apollo and Troutrooper both turned to look at him.

"You have got to be kidding me. Seriously? Right now?"

"Yeah. I'll keep it short this week, but this is important." The gray haired Aedile turned on his comm link and asked the dispatcher on the Doomsday to patch him in to all members of House Gladius.

"Friends," he began. "I'll keep this short since I know you are all busy, and I apologize for not having a face to face meeting this week but I'm sure you are all already aware of the Clan's current circumstances. There are just a few items of business this week." The Guardian took a moment to review the notes on a datapad he pulled from his pocket.

"First, I would like to formally welcome Apprentice Septim Jagastus to our House. He has already been quite busy with his studies, already completing four courses at the Shadow Academy. For the rest of you, please take a moment to introduce yourself when you get back."

"Next, I would like to congratulate Balia Donos on his recent promotion to the rank of Protector. This promotion is both in recognition of past achievements and a commitment to continued service. I look forward to seeing great things from you in the future, Protector."

"I know you're all busy, so be safe and watch each others' backs. May the Darkness guide you always. Thank you."

The commlink clicked as Scion cut the connection. He looked up from his datapad to see Apollo and Troutrooper looking past him. Apollo had drawn his lightsaber. Scion turned to see what he was looking at. A male human ghost had crept up behind him.

"Who are you?" Apollo demanded as he pointed his lightsaber at the ghost.

The ghost smirked before responding. "Nuisances," he said. "I'll deal with you first."
