House Dinaari Quaestor Report #24 - August 31st, 2008

Greetings all,

<p>So it has been a while since we last saw a report. The DJB database has been up and running for a few days now and things seem to be running smoothly again. Many thanks to Jac and everyone else who helped get things back to normal. Hopefully we don't crash again but who knows. While it does suck big time that the database got compromised, it actually worked out perfectly in time with my vacation. I am now back full time and all that good stuff.

<p>Other than that we have a "new" Aedile - Tarax is back just like I said he would be. He'll need two or three weeks to get settled back in from his extended vacation, but he'll be around on IRC and all that, just not as much as he normally would be. I wish to thank Kraval for stepping up and filling in for the past two months, especially for his performance during the Clan Feud. Normally we do take applications for such positions, but Pole did such a good job I offered him back his job before he left. Anyway, things are back to normal.

<p>In other news there are a ton of Dark Council reports flooding the main news page now that the site is back up. There's a lot of reading to be done so I suggest everyone review the news page to catch up. After that's done feel free to get back involved with gaming (#dbgaming) or the ACC - the new character sheets got pushed back so feel free to go nuts in the meantime. I'll be announcing a few competitions in the next day or so via a separate e-mail - keep your eyes open for it as Crescents will be up for grabs.

<p>Honestly there really isn't too much left to discuss. Things are sort of slow at the moment as people start going back to school and summer ends. People will probably start being more active as the weeks pass due to summer winding down and people being stuck inside more often. There's a Great Jedi War coming up - who knows when - so hopefully people start getting a bit more active to prepare for it. Anyway, that's it! Enjoy the colder weather as it starts to come in!

<p>Not much else to say. Sklib turned 18 years old today so he's old enough to legally smoke and/or chew tobacco. He also gets the ability to vote and be drafted by the military. Many congratulations to him for possibly being able to grow his first chest hair.

<p>Also, just a little side note. While our House numbers may seem smaller than others in the Brotherhood, keep in mind we actually run AWOL checks to remove the dead weight. If every unit in the Brotherhood ran similar checks, I'm sure at least one Clan would be closing. Not a big deal, but I thought it best to inform you of this little tidbit before your imagination runs wild.

<p>To finish up I recommend getting on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to talk with your fellow Taldryan members (and the rest of the DJB if you so choose). For our Journeymen there is a wealth of competitions going on right now so if you want to get ahead start participating! Your rank is determined solely by you. Have a great week!
