Aedile Report

Greetings, Cestus! This is Aedile Ronovi Tavisaen reporting for duty! Now this is going to be a rather informal report, but it is going to be an important one, so take heed and be sure to read everything I've got here.

First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who has welcomed me to the house. For those of you who don't know me too well, in real life, I am an avid writer, musician, and performer who, cliché aside, loves life. In the DB, I am a Jedi Hunter who has just left House Gladius to serve as your Aedile. I was the Obelisk Sergeant of the battle team Arcano Signum, so I know at least the basics of being a leader. Your Quaestor and I, of course, have been discussing several things that concern the house's activity, competitions, and status as of late.

Let's move on to competitions. The "[Cestus] Web games!" competition set by Kazarelth is still going on until the 15th of September. Click on the URL posted here to find the game and, once you've played it, send the screenshots to Kazarelth at the e-mail address he has listed. Every participant in this game will earn a Crescent with a Quartz Star, so even if you don't win, you will be rewarded. The one with the highest score will get a Crescent with an Emerald Star.

Now, this next paragraph concerns the status of House Cestus's latest run-on, "Into the Night." Now obviously with the clan comp and the site going down, there are some reasons not to post too avidly, but the run-on has not progressed for more than a month. Perhaps the idea that a lot of the story parallels with the story from "Of the Past" is a problem, not to mention the fact that, with our new House Summit, it's a bit outdated. I talked about this situation with Kazarelth and we both know that Cestus hasn't quite finished a run-on in a while, so here are our options: While Kazarelth brought up the idea of revising the run-on with the appropriate references but still keeping up with the storyline, I suggested that the entire run-on be scrapped and rewritten.

Obviously my suggestion is a bit extreme, but it may be the best for Cestus. That's why Kaz and I decided to put it to a vote. I want all of you to respond to this e-mail with one of the two words: "Upgrade" or "Discard." "Upgrade" will mean you agree with Kazarelth's idea to revise the run-on so that it's fresher and more current, while "Discard" will mean that you agree with my idea to scrap the run-on and go on with something new. Now of course, if the majority says, "Let's try something different," then we can definitely work on a new idea by use of your feedback. So that means your voicing of your opinion through e-mail is vital to our decision-making process.

So other than that, Kazarelth and I are still discussing ways to increase recruitment and activity levels. Either way is not going to be easy. Sometimes the amount of people interested in the club is going to dwindle based on the Star Wars universe's marketability at the time, and we all have other things to do as well. But we have to remind ourselves that we can only keep going if we enjoy what we're doing, which is why as Aedile I want to get you guys as involved as possible with the House competitions, stories, and events. That way, we know that what we're writing or working on is approved and liked by a majority of Cestus.

That's all I have to say for now. With the site back up, we can get back in the swing of things. Anshar and Dranik are still working on that project they've been speaking of, and Kazarelth and I still have some work to do. Expect a report from your Quaestor some time at the end of this week, and if you have any questions or have yet to respond to the situation about "Into the Night," please e-mail me at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] or Kazarelth at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

May darkness guide you all.
