[The Sword's Sheath, 1130 hours, conference room 12]

An older gentleman in gray robes with red trim stood at the head of a conference room table. The men and women gathered there looked well rested and clean. The lights were turned all the way up and the Aedile at the head of the table took a moment to make eye contact with everyone else in the room before beginning the morning's announcements.

"Welcome, Gladians. There is one major news item this week, which I'm sure you all are already aware of. You may notice that Ronovi Tavisaen is not with us today. She has officially taken her new position as Aedile of House Cestus. Balia Donos has taken over as the Battle Team Leader of Arcano Signum, and so far he has been doing an excellent job. Keep up the good work."

The Aedile looked around the faces of his House, some more familiar now than others. One was brand new and unfamiliar. "Bendak Starkiller, please rise so that I may introduce you to everyone." The Apprentice stood, shifting his weight nervously. "Everyone, this is our newest Apprentice. Please welcome him into our House and Clan. If you have any questions, you may ask Donos, your Battle Team Leader, or myself. Please be seated."

Scion took a sip from a glass of water before continuing the day's announcements.

[OOC Notes]

Sorry for the late report this week, everybody. I host my own email server, and early this week the motherboard began to die. This initially manifested as bad CRC errors from one of the hard drives, but replacing the disk didn't solve the problem. $400 and one and a half sick days from work later, the machine has a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and a new hard drive. So far, it seems to be working just fine. I'd like to give a special thank you in this report to James from Primary Target, who literally gave me the key to the business and let me stay there unsupervised for a day and a half so I could get my machine fixed.

If you sent me mail and you don't think I got it (ie. it bounced or it required a reply and you never got one) please re-send it.

I talked to Apollo on the phone a couple days ago and he said his internet was down again due to Hurricane Ike. I'm sure he'll chime in when he's back up and running. Until then, you may contact me for anything you may need. I'll be on IRC as much as I can, and now that my email is working again you can always find me that way as well.

The website is back down again. Nobody knows when it will be back. Now that the Clan competition is over and school is starting for many of you, it may be time to take a breather. If you're looking for something to do, the message boards and the wiki are still working just fine. We do have two competitions running right now that you can still participate in even though the web site is down.

Time to Train (All of Gladius, send entries to Scion):

Write about a day of your character's training, now that we are back from our trip to Prakith. It can be a typical day or an unusual day.

Duty (Arcano Signum only, send entries to Donos):

Write a two page story of what it would be like if you were the Flight Leader for our Battle Team.

Please ask if you want the full details about either of these competitions. I can forward you the original competition approval emails that have all the information the DB website would have had.

We have gained a number of new members lately, but most of them have been awfully quiet. If any of you are interested in finding a Master to help guide you, please contact me by replying to this report and I will help you find somebody. The Master/Student Program (MSP) is by far the best way to become successful in the Dark Brotherhood. There is no substitute for having an experienced person there specifically to help you be successful.

Please remember to let me know of anything you do that might count as activity. Don't worry about bothering me too much; it's my job to keep track of this stuff. Keep in mind that if you do something but you don't win any medals for it, I won't know about it unless you tell me. That includes ACC, wiki stuff, as well as submitting to competitions. Awards are tied to participation and it all still counts even if you don't win.
