WIKI STAFF OPENINGS:

Kyra resigned this week, and I now think that it is time to open up new spots on the Wiki Staff. I will be opening up two (2) spots. If you meet the following requirements, please apply!

Requirements:

• At least the rank of Guardian

• Knowledge of the DJBWiki's policies

• Eager to contribute to Staff discussions

• Eager to fulfill the duties listed on the "Wiki Tribune" article

DJBWIKIPEDIAN OF THE MONTH:

We haven't yet decided on November's DJBWikipedian of the Month, but the decision will be announced by November 3rd. I apologize for the delay.

CLAN TEMPLATES:

As you may have noticed, the Clans have been developing Clan templates that will be used on most (if not all) Clan-related articles. Props to Arcona for starting the trend, and props to Plagueis, Naga Sadow, and Taldryan for finishing their templates. REDIRECTS AUDIT:

After a few months (about four), I've finished combing through the redirects. Of course, I probably missed a few, but I'll let them live for now. Which brings me to a new topic, rules about redirects:

Redirects should be created for:

• Clan-owned ships: a redirect, "Excidium", can be created for the article "VSD Excidium"

• User pages: If you don't want to create a user page, simply redirect to your character article

When you move a page, a redirect will be created automatically. If the old page (the redirect) was linked to from less than three different articles, it will be deleted; otherwise, it will remain.

Top Ten Wiki Reminders

Use the Show Preview button as many times as you need

Use the Save Page button once per session

Put in a category - whether for an image or the article, and make sure it exists, don't make something up.

If you upload an image, use it right away, otherwise it will be deleted if found in the Unused File bin.

Don't double redirect. That is, if you change your name, change it everywhere it's listed instead of having a number of redirects.

Don't remove Maintenance tags - only Wiki staff are permitted

Don't make links for articles that don't exist (red links) - make the article first then add the link to other pages.
