Dark Siders,
Halloween has come and gone. And I can report that the month of October was beneficial to our clan as we continued to trend upward in both growth and activity. Several key members found elevations and several more are on the way. As they say, "Work = Reward. Only in Clan Plagueis" And the supposed 'they' is really... well... just me. But I like to see members from other clans - who read this report - complain about me. Yay!
Clan News
House Satal Keto. Many members have expressed concern about the absence of Templar Alaris Jinn and Templar Raiju Kang. I assure you that both are on approved LoAs for family emergencies. And that continued badgering of my inbox on the matter will only result in the most unpleasant of deaths. Please be patient and send any immediate issues you may have to Yzarc and myself.
Consul's Aide. I had several good applications for this position. And I truly encourage people to apply for these opportunities when they present themselves. This is an internship, not a leadership position... but you will learn skills and a thought process that will eventually lend itself to being a leader in the Dark Brotherhood. I profess that my system is neither perfect nor used in the entire DB, but it works well for me. And that the next individual in line to refine their skills will be Obelisk Prelate Cethgus. And for those of you whom sent applications... keep an eye on your inbox.
Projects. We have several things in the pipeline. I know both Kal and Anubis are working on large scale projects that will have a significant impact on our Clan. They are keeping me appraised on their progress and doing a damn good job on their assignments. Arion, Callus, Zarc and Quejo also have things in the works, but we are waiting on updates to their progress before more details can be released.

Many popular topics crop up in there, but two gems stand out: Gaming Nights and Console competitions. We are seeing increased traffic in both arenas and are working to cater to those active gamers and give them more opportunities.

Shadow Academy: The Head Master Aabsdu di Plagia Dupar has asked for applications for several open Eclectic Pedagogue (EP) positions. These opportunities are invaluable as they are both critical for the continued operation of our club and count as service to the Brotherhood. If you do not currently hold an EP position, I recommend applying for one.

The Message
The road to Dark Adept.
I rarely speak about my own, personal advancement in the Dark Brotherhood. Yet, as of late, I have had some people asking how to overcome hurdles and achieve some of the successes I have. And the answer is simple: activity.
I quickly worked my way through the initial ranks of the Brotherhood by doing all that I could get my hands on: Competitions, Gaming, Shadow Academy, Antei Combat Center, Message Boards and more. There was no competition that I did not participate in. And for it, I was elevated quickly and given many awards. It pushed me through the Journeymen ranks in record time.
Once I had proved - to my superiors - that I would be a dependable, active member they entrusted me with a leadership position: Aedile. From there I was given a strict guideline of things I must complete each week: a report and a competition. I took those basic guidelines and put my own spin on them driving my house through weekly mentorship emails, encouraging people to join IRC, providing a weekly listing of competitions and leading by example (participating in a bunch of those competitions!).
By showing that work ethic and developing a bond with my fellow members, my belief transitioned from personal gain to helping others grow. And when I started working, as a leader, to help others have opportunities, create new ideas and earn their own promotions/medals... I moved into an era of service for others. It is a process that takes a couple years of DB time. And I know that everyone can make it to that point. The difference is lasting. Making it the long haul to see countless generations of members come forth and succeed.
My point? It all starts with a decision. Your decision. You have a choice to be an active individual in this club. And if you do so elect to be active, you will soon find additional opportunities as a leader or facilitator for others. If you demonstrate you are capable of such responsibility, you too will be given promotions for your long, continued service to the club.
THE FIN
I thought I should end my report on a lighter note. So here is something I found while searching the interwebz... enjoy!
