House Dinaari Quaestor Report #29 - November 16, 2008

Greetings all,

Things are picking a little bit around these parts. More people seem to be on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) than usual, we've had a few new people join the House (via transfer and the Shadow Academy), and there's plenty of competitions running on the DB-wide scale. This is good news for Journeymen who are looking to rank up as competition participation is required for promotion. As I'm writing this report a new Consul has not yet been selected by Grand Master Sarin and his Deputy. The deadline for submitting an application has long passed so all I can tell you is that you should be keeping an eye out for an e-mail from the new Consul within the next few days, hopefully sooner. If Sklib doesn't get CON, things should be relatively stable. If he does get CON, I assume a large power vacuum/shift will occur. I guess we'll see what happens.

Thanksgiving is coming up for those of us in the United States (November 27). I assume things will slow down around then as many people in the Clan (and Brotherhood) will be doing stuff with their families. After Thanksgiving you will notice an increase in the number of mailings as the Clan leadership starts prepping the general membership (i.e. you) on the art of Vendetta. As you should know by now, the next Great Jedi War is in January 2009. While that sounds far away in reality it will come up quick as the holidays always seem to fly by. Taldryan has never lost a Great Jedi War. Ever. We're not about to start losing them, either. Arcona and (to a lesser extent) CSP have been building their power in a hope to beat us for a change. This will probably be our hardest GJW yet to win so we want to make sure everyone is well informed as to maximize our chances of winning. Stay tuned.

On a personal note I will be a bit busy starting next week as I prepare for my final exams in early December. This will be a crazy time for me and I probably won't be on IRC as much nor respond to e-mails as quickly. This happens to me three times a year and we've never had a major problem yet - Tarax is more than capable of helping to handle the load and now we have a Clan Roll Master. This crunch on my time will vanish after I take my finals and honestly you may not notice anything different. We'll have to see.

House Dinaari and Clan Taldryan proudly recognize the following individuals on their recent honors ...

Shadow Taldrya has returned from the grave and passed the Wiki Basics Shadow Academy exam for some odd reason. Well done to him! An older member of Tal has transferred back in, Seviss Nihilus Vaa, and he's been busy on IRC as well as passing the ACC Initiates exam - great work! To wrap things up, Debric Santhe d'Tana has also transferred back into the Clan! Our older members continue to come back home to the 1st Clan which is great stuff - every member we have will make it easier to retain our status of 1st Clan.

Ugh, long weekend. No personal thoughts this time.
