Aedile Report #1 - 11.20.2008

Howdy folks! I'm your Aedile, Orv Dessrx d'Tana, as you hopefully already know! I'm excited to be serving Galeres once again and from what I've seen in my recent time as Aedile, activity is growing. Like Xathia stated in her report on the 14th, my inbox has been inundated with course completions, medals awarded, questions, etc. Keep them coming!

News. The big thing is the ATR. If you don't have a clue what the ATR is, I'll enlighten you. ATR stands for Activity Tracking Record and is a service that is usable on the Arcona website that allows you to submit the activity that you do within the DJB in your current rank. Using this feature aids your leaders in detecting when you are up for a promotion, when you've done stuff that sometimes flies 'below the radar,' and when you may benefit from a medal of commendation.

What do you post?

• Competition participation

• Fictional stuff (big wiki tweaks/articles, run-ons, character histories, etc)

• Gaming (JO/JA/etc, ACC, etc)

• Leadership stuff (reports, competitions you have run, etc)

• Programming

• Art

• Etc.

Basically, the ATR is there for you to make sure the leaders see how valuable you are to the DJB so you can get sweet stuff. Going forward, Galeres will be using this as the primary source for medal and promo recommendations. If you aren't using the ATR, don't expect us to know what you've done.

So far, there are a number of Galeres members that have stepped up and started using it already, so a special thank you is deserved: "Danke." I look forward to seeing everyone else's activity being posted soon.

• Semi-Finals are nearing completion in the ACC competition, look for the finals that are coming soon.

• Do the Arcona Trivia competition! It is a fun one and will help prepare for the upcoming GJW. Lets get used to doing these fun and easy comps!

• Use the Ventrilo server. Much fun is had there. Thanks to Taigikori for setting that up for the DJB!

• GJW is coming around the corner. GM Sarin has promised more puzzlie competitions similar to those in the last GJW. Expect some puzzle competitions to come to Arcona to help us prepare.

I'm 27, a professional programmer, I draw when the mood hits me, I have a wife and daughter, I like eating Nutty Bars, my favorite color is clear, and that was me making your mom scream last night. Bork, bork, bork!
