I've just been informed by ShadowHawk, thanks SH :), that Demos, thanks Demos :), has discovered how to get X-Wing vs TIE Fighter to work under Windows 2000. If you suffer from this problem apparently all you need to do is change your shortcut to "...XwingTie\z_xvt__.exe" ishost which will load you directly into the program.
