Descendants of Darkness,
(And my fans in Taldryan)
We have seen another week go by, but we have also seen a huge spike in our activity this week. The endless submissions that are streaming in for the Thanksgiving Celebration is astounding. Keep it up! And for those of you whom have completed your submissions to the Clan Event, please begin focusing on the Brotherhood-wide events hosted by Raken and Muz. Lets show the rest of the Dark Brotherhood what we got!
Clan News
New members galore! A sudden recruitment spike has seen a wealth of new members coming into the Clan. If you are not familiar with the advancement guidelines set forth by the Master At Arms be sure to read up here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/wiki/index.php?title=Promotion_Requirements
A note to the new members: Be sure to ask for help! And when you complete the necessary results for advancement, contact us immediately! And by us, I mean your Consul ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) or Proconsul, Yzarc ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) if your House Leader has not targeted you for an elevation.
A message to our old members: Be sure to help these new, willing individuals advance through the initial ranks so they can begin to enjoy every facet of our club! Their successes measure the overall effectiveness and potency of our clan's ability to contribute to the Dark Brotherhood.
One sick Consul. Sorry for the sudden decline in activity, folks. I got the flu bug and fell off the map. I spent most of the week in bed... sleeping. And when I wasn't sleeping I was eating chicken noodle soup and watching reruns on television... which usually led to more sleep. Good news, though, I have antibiotics and am supposedly getting better.

The Message
I take it that everyone - new members excluded - is familiar with my report format. We have a brief introduction, jump to the clan news, subtly list towards DB news, move into the message and BAM end with THE FIN.
Why the monotony? It is the same format on a nearly regular basis... forever and ever. Almost seems boring doesn't it?
Consistency. Sure, my peers mock me for the lame portions that I write about comradery and all that other sappy stuff, but I enjoy writing it. And, yes, I do take a lot of grief about making my leaders report every week. A lot of the leaders in our club say, "report when you have something to report." And that is fine, if you expect only the most mundane of efforts (not always the case with everyone). But my theory is that you if I make leaders report on a weekly basis, they will not only demonstrate their commitment to the position, but will have things to report. Otherwise, if they don't do anything... they will look like a real slacker in that report that says... well... nothing.
So I am sorry for the boring message about reports. But I wanted to take a moment to explain why I send out so many when Leaders of other Clans are content to... well... not send out those weekly reports. Its not that they are lazy, they just have a different outlook on it than I do.
THE FIN
Activity. Our clan continues to rock the activity within the Clan. My hope is to see that slowly translate into Brotherhood-wide participation in competitions hosted by the Tribune: Fiction and the Tribune: Gaming. Once we make that jump... then we are truly a Clan to be reckoned with.
Projects. Waiting on Famosus (as usual) for some new member developments. I have Kal wrapping up another planet redraft. Alaris is putting the finishing touches on the Fleet and Yzarc just dumped a load of NPCs on my desk. I am going to enlist him to help me plug it all into wiki format next... mwahahaha. There are a number of other developments and you will hear more once we have more. yay!
Communication. I know that not every member makes it this far in my reports, but if you have and do not use IRC... read on. Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a great tool for advancement in the Brotherhood because it gives you real-time answers to real-time questions. And, generally, those members whom frequent IRC are those whom remain with the club the longest. So jump on and join us in #plagueis
Until the next fabulous week... ::snoopy dance::
