Dark Greetings, Cestus.
It's been some time since my last report, because I've been keeping busy.
A tad bit of a long report, this time.
The Great Jedi War is upon us.... well almost. And as a leader of Tarentum,
I would like only one thing:- 1st place in the GJW. Which means, we can
shoot our mouths off at #db and no one can say anything. Which means we
upset the other Clans we hate [:P]. Which also means we rock, and they suck.
But we know the last part already, don't we?
So how do we go about doing the "Get first place in the GJW!!!11!!!1", when
we already know that we rock (and they suck)?
First, and foremost is Participation. Participate. *Participate.
PARTICIPATE!!* As most of you veterans know, the GJW scoring system is built
on this tenet:- "play more - win more". There are participation points, and
there are n number of things that you get participation points for. You saw
Windos' post in the Clan mailing list - 100 ACC matches to participate in!
That means a straight-out 33.33 points (if the scoring system is, say 1/3
points per participation) if you just keep clicking on the challenge button
with a different person and posting to each one of them. And, who knows, you
might just end up winning over 50% of those matches. And we have a wealth of
ACC knowledge within the Clan - BF (who is an awesome writer), Telona,
Saitou, Windos <- These people are awesome when it comes to the ACC.
ACC is not your thing? How about gaming? JA, JO is easy enough to play
(attack, jump, crouch, left-right attack, permutate, combine, repeat.), EaW
I have not played, and therefore cannot comment.
In any case, Cestus is holding up its traditional place as a JA, JO
stronghold with some superawesome gamers like Frosty, Karel, and Xayun. In
the other Houses too, there are great gamers. These are the people you need
to go to when you want to learn how to play.Archean is one helluvan awesome
teacher, and if he ever comes online on a computer on which he can play, do
not hesitate to ask him for a JA tutorial "match". I'm sure Frosty and Karel
would oblige if you ask them for something similar. Even if these guys
aren't online, just ask anyone for a match. Two great channels to hunt out
for games are #db and #dbgaming. Just ask! You never know when you will see
the Great Drunk Sleeping Gamers :P And Saturdays are great because the ICTE
goes on on Saturdays. Have a blast in those while getting nifty CF's for
losing three matches! :P Seriously, though, these are the best ways to
increase your talent.
Anyway, with such a cartload of talent, if those few who are interested
start playing a few matches here and there, you all would be in a position
to kick some fresh cookie-dough ass. {Although trust me, it takes a long
time to become carved out of Cortosis in these parts) I've seen Vai and
Jaron play with spirit, and with a little bit of practice, I'm sure you guys
and punch through the most of the crap the Clans send in as "gamers". :P
Well, you hate gaming, and you don't wish to qualify to the ACC, since you
think the CS is a waste of time to create. How about plain, old fiction, and
run ons? We have a wealth of fiction expertise, that reaches far beyond
normal Houses; BF, Saitou, Welsh, Frey, Sato, (Dare I say Karel for that GJW
poetry? :P), Ronovi, Huldrych, Vai, Jaron. We learn as we go, no doubt, but
we are a great and coordinated House, and part of one of the
best-coordinated Clan. We can cooperate and participate. In the coming days,
I shall be setting up a small group of talented people specifically for the
GJW, who will not only churn out the most exquisite pieces of the GJW, but
also help others who have doubts regarding the realism, wording, framing,
uber-coolness or other such fiction-centric thingees. They will have
answers, or they will refer you to someone else who has answers, and this
way the GJW fiction will be fundamentally covered.
With an awesome, concluded RO for Cestus, we have done very well. However,
the response from Cestus' side was average - mostly due to various RL
problems. I know for sure that quite a number of people will participate in
the GJW main RO, and we are definitely going to kick some ass. Seriously.
More of a "talk about how we are going to win the GJW" than a real report.
And Karel has been awarded an Amethyst Kukri for is
jaw-droppinglysuperbloodyawesome run as SCL helper. The site enhancements
are all because of him, Orv and Jac. So big hand for Karel!!
That's that, Cestus. See you next week.
In Darkness,
Priest Kazarelth Talismarr.
Quaestor of Cestus.
