Headmaster Report #19

These past few days have been filled with some pretty major announcements in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. There are new, and awesome, character sheets for everyone to mess around with, as well as a new Seneschal, the oh-so-awesome Orv. Around the Shadow Academy, things are been put in fast forward. We have one big release in this report, and expect another in my next report sometime around Christmas. After that, my next report will be my one-year anniversary as Headmaster report, so I plan on having a very special report for that.

On a side note, the latest Clone Wars episode was about General Grievous, and it rocked. Period.

The Zarente Chronicles: Part III

Queen's Throne Room

Varik Citadel

Zarente System

The hologram flickered into life, creating a monochrome figure dressed in a dark robe, around two feet tall, in the middle of the room. Tatania Varik, Queen of Zarente, motioned with her hand for her guards, silently waiting among the pillars, to leave, and they did. She draped her arm over the edge of her throne, smoothing out her golden silk dress. The figure raised its head, hidden behind an ancient tribal mask, and looked at the queen.

"Have you killed the Jedi yet," rasped the figure.

"He will be dead soon enough. My men are searching for him, but we suspect the rebels may have grabbed him."

"Do not underestimate a Jedi, especially one as high ranked in my organization as this one. I need not remind you of the battle droids waiting for you should you succeed, or fail. I will send a pair of Dianoga fighters to assist you in your search, but be watchful. Do not fail me... your majesty."

The figure stood long enough for his point to be made, and then flickered away. Queen Varik sat still on her throne, thinking, twisting a strand of her copper hair in her fingers. Her remaining in power depending upon the alliance with the figure, it was the only way she could put down the rebels before they manage to do any permanent damage.

Finally, she stood, pulling a comlink from the folds of her dress. She spoke a few words before returning it, and then walked away, heels clicking on the polished marble.

News

--Not directly related to the Shadow Academy, but the new character sheets were released, and are amazing.

--The glitches in the Shadow Academy coding have been fixed, so expect some big announcements in the coming weeks. Big thanks go out to Orv for fixing them!

--With the recent influx of degree requests, we have decided to move forward with our plans for releasing the next new degree. While we wait for our new course to be released in the coming weeks, keep yourself busy by passing the courses required for the brand new Dark Savant - Writing and Philosophy degree! Along with the Writing and Philosophy Dark Mavens, Advanced Poetry and the Advanced Test of Wisdom are required for this, surprise, advanced degree. Also required are two electives. All of these requirements can be found on the Wiki page, linked in this report.

Projects

--The Shadow Academy plans on working very close with Orv in adding some very new and sweet features to the site, as well as the general cleaning up of code that desperately needs to be recoded to make more sense. None of this will happen for a few months, at least, but when they do happen, I am really looking forward to it all.

--What should you expect in the next report? The release of a new course, the announcement of the new EP for the poetry courses, a new fictional update, the finishing up of SA audits, as well as backlogged stuff that can finally be finished now that the glitch has been fixed. Oh, Wiki page updates and Dark Vault updates as well.

Featured Course of the Report

This report's featured course is the Test of Power. What is the Test of Power you ask? Basically, it is a practical gaming course. Available for most of the Star Wars games played in the DB, really all you have to do is complete a set of simple tasks, take a screenshot, and email that .jpg to the EP, Smoke. Not only is it one of our easier courses, depending on what game you play, but it is also one of the more fun courses, since you are playing a video game while completing it. You can use any matches to meet the requirements, which means you could pass a Shadow Academy report and earn some Clusters of Fire at the same time.
