Report #2 – December 20, 2008

Ho, ho, holy crap Christmas is almost here. I know not everyone celebrates it, so I’ll just say Happy Holidays to everyone.

With the end of December fast approaching, Operation: Resurgence is quickly drawing towards the final event – the Run On. The Battle Plan event finished last week and I’ll be announcing the winning entry later tonight. ACC and Gaming will continue on until the 13th of January, but your last chance to start an ACC Match will be December 31st (I’ve moved the date back). Everyone should have enough time to get their matches in after that point.

I’d also like to point out that I added a fiction event to the competition. I should have had this from the start, but didn’t have an idea for it. You can find all the details and rules regarding the fiction and other events on the OPR Website.

For the ACCers – make sure you follow the rules as outlined in the OPR Hall.

Sklib has outlined a new play for the role of Battle Team Leader. After some discussion with the Summit, we’re opting for a return to the leadership-in-training style of BTL usage. In the next few days the House Summits will be opening applications for the position of Battle Team leader. For now, here is a brief overview of the new plan.

Basically, each applicant will have to have completed certain pre-requisites before being able to apply for the position. Once those requirements are met, they may send an application to their House Summit. After due consideration, the Summit will appoint a new team leader. As BTL you serve for a maximum duration of four months. In that time it will be your job to monitor your teams activity, create and run various competitions, and pass on/assist in the rewarding of promotions and medals. A Battle Team is only as good as its leader so, if you’re not diligent in your duties, you will be removed from your job.

With this new plan we’re going to be starting over fresh with the battle teams of both Houses (not including the Old Folk’s Home). If you were a BTL before I’m sorry, but you’ll have to meet the new requirements and apply like everyone else. The House Summits will include more details on what is expected of you and what the requirements will be to apply.

; For now, this is being run on a trial basis. If we find there is a lack of willing/able young leaders, or the system isn’t working as designed, we will most likely pull the plug and attempt something new.

All exams are over, all Summit members are alive. Well, as alive as one can be during the holidays. If you need help with anything talk to one of your House leaders. They LOVE it. Especially Tarax.

I mentioned this in my earlier update, but I wanted to again urge everyone who hasn’t to sign up and get qualified for the ACC. For the actual step-by-step guide see my Clan Update email or news post on the Taldryan Site. Below are Halc’s rules for setting up a qualification match:

_ - Pin numbers of both participants

• Full names and the ranks of both participants

• Weapons to be used by the participants

• A venue to fight in (if no venue, we will decide at random)

Muz has just announced a new dossier perk for members ranked EQ2+. A new order-based warbanner design is now available and is quite sexy. If you meet the rank requirement and are looking to obtain/update a warbanner and would like one of these new ones, add a note that you want the special order-specific banner in your request.

Kir has sent out the scoring system for the GJW out to the Dark Council. Most of us agree that it is pretty sweet, there’s just one or two people gumming up the works. I can’t reveal any details yet, but it’s a good system and it will favor skill over participation. Always a good thing for us.
