Greetings, members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. As Jac has mentioned in the State of the DB Address, Kaiann and I are preparing to run a test of the Character Sheet which will be used in the final version of Rebirth. In order to do this, we will be testing all the facilities used in individual character sheets. This will require those participating in the testing to participate in several roleplaying tests, including but not limited to a number of roleplaying sessions which will require participants to play as their characters. These sessions will be in addition to a number of character customization options that will be managed out of the roleplaying game.

Though the features that will be implemented with Rebirth will be completely optional for the average member, during the testing, participants will be asked to engage in all activities available to them in the test. This will mean that members will have to devote a large amount of time to the testing, in addition to the Roleplaying sessions which will be run on a regular basis. In other words, those testing Rebirth will most likely be engaging in a large amount of In-Character activity... Probably more than they have done yet in the DB outside of stories. Participants will, if they have no already, have to create a history for their character.

The information on Project: Rebirth is largely confidential. Those participating in the testing will be allowed access to the character sheet area of the Project, which is a large part of the future of the DB. In order to keep rumors and comments on the system to a minimum outside the testing group, those who participate in the testing will be given a secure place to discuss the system and the testing process.

The current dossier page used by the DB will be revamped quite a bit after Rebirth. Each member involved in the testing will have access to a modified, updated dossier, which will be kept updated off of the database. These dossiers will be visible only to those participating in the test, and the information they contain will be restricted to those involved in the tests.

A number of people have already emailed me following the State of the DB Address requesting the ability to help with the testing. Those that have, we are already beginning to "process" your applications to help out. This testing project will require a diverse group of members in the range between GRD and DA+, though these rank guidelines are not "set in stone" and exceptions may be made for those under GRD. While prior experience is not necessary, it will be helpful.
