Headmaster’s Chamber

Somewhere in the Core Systems

Blood dripped from the man’s black hood that was so tightly bound around his head. On his knees and barely about to stand, he wondered if they would ever let up on the torture. Directly in the center of the anti-chamber was his broken body, on both knees and head swinging as though from a noose. The stench of his own sweat filled his nostrils like a flower that had just come to blossom. Around the man were nearly two dozen Eclectic Pedagogues, cloaked and hooded in their ceremonial robes. A low chant came from each of them in unison. It was of an ancient Sith dialect that few alive could translate. They spoke these words only in remembrance of those lore-masters before them.

The circle formed around the broken man was exact. By candle light they continued to chant, and is if by command, a white mist began to swirl around the man. A tall figure emerged from a throne at the end of the hall. His shoulders were broad. In one hand he clasped a straight edged katana. He walked into the center of the room and stood beside the near half naked man. With his left hand he grabbed the top of the black hood and yanked it free from the man’s head. Hair was pulled along with it, crimson now forming on his cranium. Finally the man was unmasked, and his identity known. Taigikori Aybara knelt there, one eye completely closed shut, while the other open just enough to see the Headmaster’s look of disgust.

“At this moment you are dead. Your life is meaningless, and the very breath you waste in my halls is sacrilege. What do you have to say for yourself?”, spat Aabsdu.

“If you so command it, take my life. May it serve the Shadow Academy at least so that one Initiate may pass through our halls untouched.”, Taigikori replied, his words soft, and his vision failing.

Aabsdu stared at the Sith Warrior for what seemed an hour. Without a single blink of an eye, the katana in Aabsdu’s hand flew in several graceful motions, slashing at Taigikori’s bare chest. Screams were once again filled in the hall, and the men in the circle smirked at the pain. After several moments of work, Aabsdu stopped, and looked down upon his work. Upon Taigikori’s chest now bore the mark of the Shadow Academy. “Arise now, Taigikori Aybara, Praetor.”. Aabsdu brought his hand under the man, lifting him to his feet and nodding with respect.

News

--The Shadow Academy is currently undergoing some renovations to try and keep the website attacks from happening again, since holes in the Shadow Academy coding are suspects for where the bots came through. For the time being, try to stay away from taking any exams or such, and if you recently submitted an exam, it will not be graded. I will make a news post once things are good to go.

--As you may have read in the introductory fictional update (which will be continuing on a more story-arc schedule after the Great Jedi War), Taigikori is the new Praetor to the Headmaster, congratulations to him. Thanks once again to Dacien for all his help, he will be staying on as a Magistrate to help out with coding and the like. Thus, remember to start emailing Taig when it comes to degree requests and general SA questions, I don't want Dacien to keep getting email he doesn't need.

--Since Taig is now P:HM, we have decided to cut his EP workload from two courses to one. As such, EP of IRC Basics is now open to applications. General rules apply: rank of Protector, 72 hour email turnaround, already passed the course, etc. Send applications to myself and Taig. Include what you like about the course and what you don't like, and how you would change things for the better. Those applications are due by February 21st.

Projects

--There are things we are working on, but right now we're focusing on beefing up website security. I will also be catching Taig up on things, so for now we're just relaxing until the Great Jedi War starts in March.
