_The Quaestor leaned over the desk, his arms outstretched supporting his weight as he looked below. His face showed a rare moment of honest clarity. War was on the horizon and he could not afford to delay this decision much longer.
To be sure, the choice of Aedile would be his most significant act to date; a decision he did not take lightly. Closing his eyes, Vivackus peered into the Force, looking for guidance, but was met with only silence and darkness. He would have no aid on this matter. The decision - and consequences - would be entirely his own._

The application period for Aedile is now over. There were a number of promising applicants and I'd like to again thank everyone who applied. After review, we have narrowed the field to a select few whom I have asked a series of questions. Expect a final decision in my next report, if not sooner.
The Clan Runon has had some fun activity recently, not the least of which was me getting my head smashed in by our esteemed Rollmaster, Cethgus while trying to forcibly get information out of Kara. I have it from reliable sources that it is going to be wrapping up soon, so if you so wish, get in another post in sooner, rather than later.
The Shadow Academy is finally up and running again. I know that several of our Journeymen have been waiting for the ability to continue taking SA courses to fulfill promotion requirements, so now is the time.
Last Sunday, Alaris hosted the first CP Trivia event. In the end, partly because my IRC decided to crap out midway through, it came down to a final question, where I narrowly edged out Mograine for the victory. From here on out, I plan to sit back and watch the rest of you have fun.
A final reminder is to CC the clan activity tracker, [Log in to view e-mail addresses], in any competition you enter. Without doing so, it is difficult for us to have a definitive record of all participation. This is especially important at the lower Journeyman levels where every competition counts.

GJW COUNTDOWN: 10 DAYS
For anyone who is new, or has been under a rock for the past couple of months, GJW IX will start March 1. The Great Jedi Wars are the events of the largest possible scale in the Dark Brotherhood. Utilizing competitions involving fiction, graphics, gaming, and the ACC, this is where the Clans show their stuff. Clan Plagueis has never won a Great Jedi War. In fact CP has come in last place in every GJW since its creation. This has led to a perception among the other Clans that CP is inferior. That may have been partially justified in the past, but the past is not what concerns me. What I see now is a group of talented, dedicated individuals. I, and the rest of the CP leadership are truly honored to serve you. We will not let the past define us. As I see it, the only hinderance on our performance this time around will be our own preconceived limitations. Anyone who believes Clan Plagueis will not make a strong showing in GJW IX will surely be sorely mistake. Let's make a statement. Let's show them that we are not who they thought we were.
Gaming:
The email for anything GJW gaming related is here: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. Cethgus has been working pretty much around the clock, in addition to his rollmaster duties to prep Clan members and practice with all of the gaming platforms for the GJW.
Runon:
Not too much to report here on the surface, but once the current runon ends, Braecen intends to give personalized pointers to all the members who have participated.
ACC:
Alaris has sent out weekly emails pertaining to specific aspects of ACC writing. Anyone thinking about participating in ACC battles during the GJW would do well to read over them and email him back with the examples he suggests.
Graphics/Misc:
Not a whole lot going on here... but I'd also suspect not a lot of you have done Yzarc's graphics comp. So go do that :P
Fiction:
I have concluded my "The Vong and You" series as well as the exam at the culmination. Nothing else is going to start up this close to the GJW, but just as a reminder, for any fiction submissions, we have an email account set up at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] where, within 48 hours, we will review your piece and help you improve it.

Final Note
I usually try to keep from sounding preachy, but I'd like to talk to you a little bit about fun and how it pertains to you, me, and the DB in general, especially with the upcoming GJW. At this point, after I just gave you the motivational speech, you're hopefully ready to go out and move mountains to prove everyone wrong about how good Clan Plagueis really is. I want you to step back for a second and examine for yourself why you want to do so. At times like this, we often loose sight of the most important thing, the reason why we came to the Dark Brotherhood in the first place. In my humble opinion, that reason is "for fun." When we joined the DB, I daresay the vast majority of us did it because we inherently enjoy something about Star Wars; we did it because we thought it would be fun. During the Great Jedi War, I ask you not to get caught up in participating because you want to prove something to someone. Of course, there is an element of competition, but at its heart, the GJW is supposed to be fun. Raken, Sarin, Muz and anyone who worked on preparing what we have in store for the coming weeks didn't do so out of some sadistic desire to pit us against one another, they did it because it it would be fun.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am in no way trying to lower expectations or give some sort of pre-emptive consolation speech that "The outcome doesn't matter." I intend to put my heart and soul into everything I do in the GJW so that Clan Plagueis comes out on top, but at the end of the day, every piece of fiction I write, every match of JA I play, every ACC battle I do, is going to be done because I enjoyed writing/playing it. If you take this little piece of advice, and make sure that you're truly having fun, I guarantee you will do better than you would have otherwise.
Just Have fun.
