Headmaster Report #23

Silently, the Arcanum drifts in the depths of space. Aboard are it’s hundreds of Initiates in training to become Dark Jedi of the next era. Pride is filled within it’s halls, as countless pass the tests laid before them. And yet there is unrest still within it’s hull.

"I tire of this. This…prison.", Taigikori spat, turning away from the large holo-window in the Headmaster’s private quarters.

Aabsdu studied his apprentice as he stomped away from the window, his fists balled and his head hanging with discomfort. He had yet to be trained in patience. That would be his first falling. Stepping towards his apprentice, his cloak glided along the floor with grace. Aabsdu turned Taigikori towards him, his right hand grasping his shoulder.

"We have endured this Academy within these halls for nearly three years, and your whining will not stop it’s progress."

Before shrugging free of the Headmaster’s grip, he looked him in his dark eyes and nodded his head in respect.

"Forgive me, I do not mean to halt our progress. But you and I both felt that…that rupture in the force. You have still not told me your thoughts on it," Taigikori looked worried, his brow arched and his shoulders poised as if a kath hound were within two feet.

Aabsdu looked hard at his Praetor, and they both stood and mused at what had just been spoken. Days prior, both Headmaster and Praetor had felt a strong tug in the force. The Headmaster himself admitted that the source of this was escaping his knowledge, though he did want to let on at first.

"It is of the Ancient Lore. A technique that we can feel of a coming darkness. How or why we tapped into this I do not know. But why do you think I’ve set our security level to it’s maximum? Do you take me for a fool? This…threat. It is coming fast. Know this, while the Arcanum is under our protection, we will see it through.", Aabsdu said strongly, his eyes level with his apprentice’s.

A smile sneaked past Taigikori’s stern face, and he walked over to face his master. "To Lyspair."

News

--Once the Great Jedi War starts, there will not be any official reports. There may be updates concerning events related to the Academy, but other than that, all focus is on participating in the events. Good luck to all, this is definitely going to be one awesome vendetta.

--A while ago Ood Bnar came to me with an old, unpublished Dark Voice article in which he had interviewed several former Headmasters. We have taken that article and, after tweaking it a little to fit more in the present tense, made it a page on the SA site. Hopefully this is a page that will continue to be updated with Headmasters from me and beyond (sadly, I won't be here forever). Interested to see what Headmasters like Mejas Doto, Troutrooper, and Mage think of things now? Check it out here!

Projects

--There are a couple of really cool things floating around right now, including some new courses, some course changes, some major overall SA changes, and more, but all of that is being put on a relative hold for the Great Jedi War. For the next six weeks, we are all focusing on the war, including the parts where the Shadow Academy is involved. In the month or so after the war ends, however, I can promise at least one new course, so get ready. Our schedule is jam-packed from now until August.
