Hey, Cestus! Yes, it's pretty early for me to be sending a report, and yes, I know Anshar and Oberst have already sent out reports, but I have received participation lists from the Clan Summit, just to give a specific visual on how lackluster our participation is.
Take Week 0. That was a good week; 13 people submitted to the fiction event. That's how we placed in the top three. Now Week 1's fiction event only got three submissions from our side. Now, there are ten spots to place in, and we don't have at least ten people trying out for each event, then people in other clans are going to take the spots we possibly deserved. That's how it works. And especially if some of the few participants don't place, well, that means that the other clans are definitely going to score more points.
The fiction submissions as well as the gaming submissions have been meager, and I mean meager. The graphics events are even worse; for one week, only one person submitted to the graphics event. Here's a good tip, guys: If we want to do well in this GJW, we have to step out of our comfort zones. If you have the means to submit to an event even if it's not your forte, do it. You may be pleasantly surprised at the results. If real life or technical difficulties get in the way, that's understandable; I'd game, but the games are not compatible on the kind of computer I have. But that doesn't mean some of you can't jump in and fill up the empty space (I'm talking to you, Xayun - stop playing SF4 and help us!)
Also, if you're doing the ACC and know you won't have time to finish a battle...and I never thought I'd say this...just bullshit a post. I mean it. If you fail to post in three days, you actually lose the clan points. Just today I got two e-mails saying that two of our members failed to post; that costs us. At least completing a battle, even if you know you lose, is worth something.
So are we going to see even a slight change in our standings over this week? Probably not; the multimedia and the fiction events go through next week, and writing as well as presentation is a strong point of ours. For now, keep hammering at the RO, and really, take this participation thing to heart. I've compared our participation to other clans' participation, and it doesn't look like we're even trying.
Battle on, Cestus, and do this because we want Tarentum to do well. Don't forget all the power plays we did earlier in the year about the GJW.
