Tetrarch Kant Lavar, Report No. 2

18 April 2009**

War! Huh! What is it good for? … Actually, quite a lot.

Kant Lavar cursed as he ran out of the burning tent, in a simple short-sleeved shirt, pants, and boots while his right hand gripped his DL-44 blaster pistol in a white-knuckled grip as he searched for the droids and Jedi that had struck the camp. A trio of B1s came around a corner, and Lavar spun and shot all three in the head without thinking. All three fell, and Lavar walked over, appropriating the blaster rifle off of one of them. The weapon was designed for a droid’s hands, but an organic could use it as long as they weren’t worried about comfort too much. Lavar looked around the corner and saw an SBD trundling towards him, and the Jedi Hunter leaned out, aimed, and fired a long burst in one smooth motion…

Obligatory Monologue

Another quiet week. Very quiet. Not that I’m complaining, really, since I trust that this ongoing silence is indicative of people being hard at work on the War, which is good. Keep it up. In semi-related news, the cable guy was here not five minutes ago turning on my cable internet (Time Warner, now, not Comcast) so now I will never ever leave my room – well, at least I won’t have to to go do anything online. My desktop PC will be back in my possession on Monday, so at that point I’ll be at max presence online – though that will drop down slightly in coming weeks as my unit shifts away from half-day schedules back to full work days. That may take a while, as May is block leave, so most people will be on leave. I won’t, as I’m saving my leave up for terminal leave – gotta love getting paid for job searching and starting school.

Cool Thing of the Week

Halo Wars. I know, lots of folks think RTS’ belong on PC and only on PC, and to be honest, I’d agree with you most of the time. But I’m enough of a Halo whore to pick this up just because it’s a video game that has “Halo” in the title. And I’ll be very honest about it; while it doesn’t have anything near the depth and complexity of, say, Civ IV, for a console game it’s pretty damn good, both control-wise and story wise. Hit me up on IRC for more commentary – can’t write a report where the bonus section is longer than the rest of the report, can I?
