With the 9th Great Jedi War at an end we are now able to turn our attention back to the Wiki. The Wiki was used extensively throughout the war, though much of it's usage was for research and not many pages were added during that time.

There has been a surge in character development thanks to the excellent storyline of the GJW. This means a large number of files/articles have been edited and updated. Which brings about a greater amount of Wiki Staff policing. To help out the Wiki Staff, I would like you all to keep the following in mind:

1. Use the Show Preview button. - We will bug you about this. Yes, we know you may be using it, but when we see a number of saves in a short period of time it frustrates us. A good way to beat the system in this respect is to write out your article in Notepad or Word or the equivalent of these. Do a spell check (if your program has one) and then copy/paste it into the article. Then click Show Preview. If it does not look right or you think an addition would be good, go back to your writing program - add and then repeat with the copy/paste and Show Preview.

2. Read your messages. - If you login to the Wiki and it says you have messages, you really should read them. These messages are comments on your User talk page, typically from the Wiki Staff or someone trying to help you. Check your User talk at least once every time you come to the Wiki to see if you've been given pointers.

3. Image uploads. - When uploading images, make sure you add the fairuse tag { {fairuse}} as well as the Image Category. For a list of Image Categories go to: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Image_Categories - In regards to uploads, I have decided to also allow you to leave comments in the section where you input the fairuse tag and image category (after those two things). Previously we had it set that you would have to put these in the image talk page, but I have changed my decision on this.

4. Character Templates - Solus Gar has done an amazing job creating us new Character templates that are easier to use. Instead of having to figure out what the needed template is all you have to do now is add your order into the |Type= section of the template (i.e. |Type=Sith). But that is not all, Solus has been busy working on many many more templates for us to easily use. We owe Solus Gar our deep appreciation and graditude.

5. Under Construction - Many of these tags are going to be removed. Why? Many have constructed a decent article and no matter what the article will always be growing and will therefore always be under construction. This tag is to be used only as an article is in the beginning stages of developement. Take notice that there are many articles with other Maintenance tags out there, if you require assistance meeting the needs that they say you are lacking, feel free to approach any of the Wiki Staff to help you out. If you plan on re-writing your article, please do not erase everything and leave it blank with just an Under Construction tag. Leave it as is until you have your new material written up.

6. Old Articles - No I'm not talking about the oldest articles in the Wiki. Rather, I'm dealing with old articles that are no longer of use - Characters that are no longer in the DB and articles that really make no sense and have nothing to do with the DB. Now to do this is quite the undertaking, but I know we can do it with your support. For the Character articles (which there are a large number of) the easiest way to do this would be to have members of clans work together and audit their Clan category while the Wiki Staff deal with the Rogue Category. We need volunteers and would greatly appreciate all the help we can get for this.

7. Dark Side Scroll - These have not been awarded for awhile now, I intend to rectify that. I've been given a number of Quote of the Day submissions - yes, I will be using them - and these are one way to earn a DSS. Another way to earn a DSS is by quality articles (such as Featured Articles). I presented the idea of awarding the DSS to members for Wiki work back during my last tenure, I will need to review the requirements and I plan on revising it as well.
