So, the Herald’s Office is keeping busy and I’d have to say this is probably the most lightsaber requests we’ve had in a while. There’s tons of graphics for you today, as well as a few things to mention.

For helping Kir out and being just sexy, I got a Dark Cross. Woot. However, the biggest props go out to Robin Hawk for her work in the Herald’s Office. She has served on Staff for nearly a year and has never thought about anything other than her job and how to improve her work. She has been a massive help to this office and for her work, she has been presented with a Sapphire Blade. Mad props to Robin.

Also, there is a competition from the Herald that has come out for 2nd level Crescents. The Competition is called, “Like A Herald”. You can find the link here. I hope to see many submissions for it.

There’s something that has constantly come up throughout my tenure as Herald that I thought I might shed some light on. Many people will request certain items or submit specific graphics they want on their dossiers that get denied. Most of the time, it is because they conflict with standards we use at the Herald’s Office or because it is not uniform with most of the graphics on the site. So, why do we do it this way?

One of the things that really help making a good site turn into a great site is the presentation. If you have thousands of graphics that all conflict against one another, it looks like someone just threw something together and hoped it didn’t look like the Frankenstein monster when it came out. Unfortunately, it happens many times.

As for specifics on warbanners, it’s something that is only passed on to Staff members. Why is it done this way? To promote activity. We have a vast amount of positions that members can eventually take on and there are standards for each position. For example, the House Summits in Clan Scholae Palatinae will do things different and have different standards, than the House Summits of Arcona, than the MAA’s Office.

I do not sit and ask how they do things because it is for them to uphold their standards. Ours is to create an awesome product that while different than others, remains uniform to the rest of the images you see in the Brotherhood. I know this doesn’t answer other questions but I figured some light is better than darkness, (granted we’re dark jedi but level with me here). That’s my piece of mind.
