Greetings, Clan. My name is Vivackus Kavon and I'm your new Proconsul. For those of you unfamiliar with me, I'm a homegrown Plagueian, having joined the DB approximately 1 year and 9 months ago. Last November, I was made Battle Team Leader of Keto's Vengeance. Moving from there to Aedile, and subsequently Quaestor of House Satal Keto, I find myself now in the position of PCON. How exciting.

In real life, I'm a college student at Penn State University (WE ARE!!!) studying engineering. At the moment living with my parents in Pittsburgh for summer break.

Here's what I want to bring to the table as your Procosul:

There were recently several things going out about the chain of command and that you should discuss problems/complaints/etc. with your most immediate superior first. While this is true and mostly a good idea because it ensures that Alaris and I aren't overwhelmed with matters Kal and Cethgus are perfectly capable of completing, it does not mean that your only contact with CP leadership should be through your Aediles. I hope to bring the Clan Plagueis Leadership down to Earth (or Kapsina, as it were), a bit. I'd very much like to get to know every one of you personally and ensure that we're doing the best job we can serving you. I'll be on IRC at some point during most days. I don't bite. Send me an email and I'll reply in a timely fashion.

Clan Plagueis has had a lot of nervous energy lately. I suspect this is partly because of lag after the GJW, and people just not knowing what to do with themselves. I hope to channel that into something constructive.

<center### Recent News.

I'm your new PCON. If that doesn't count as news, I don't know what does :P As a result, I require a shiny new graphic for my reports. Not being graphically-inclined, I'll open up this as an opportunity to anyone who wants to get those creative juices flowing. Email me if you come up with something.

As a natural result, Kal has stepped into fill the job of HSK Quaestor, one which he had done well before and I fully expect him to do well this time. This leaves yet another Aedile position open. You have until July 1 to apply. By no means think that there is a single person "destined" for this job. Anyone in the Clan who is of rank Guardian (a requirement which some 80% of our members currently fill, not to mention the several Protectors who are within a Shadow Academy exam away from promotion) should have a fair shot at it. If you don't apply, we could very well miss out on the best candidate.

Another move of which you may or may not have been aware is that of Keto's Vengeance Battle Team Leader, Sanguinius Tsucyra has been accepted as the Aedile of House Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona. I've known Sang since he stepped foot into CP and has from the second he joined been a fantastic member. Wish him luck in his new position.

On a Brotherhood Scale, two things are of note. DB Radio is back (though it must have been gone for a while as I don't even remember it being here in the first place). To my knowledge, you go to the #dbradio IRC channel and enjoy some tunes. Also, Raken (you might not know this, but he was a member of Clan Plagueis long, long ago, in a galaxy far far away...) has announced he and our great GM, Sarin are petitioning to open Independent House Revan. Keep an eye on this one. They'll likely be a force.

Oe final thing has come to my attentions recently. When acclimating myself to my new job I enquired about the total number of projects that were being completed by members of CP. Alaris then told me that Braecen, quite unfortunately, had left us a great volume of unfinished work, but no official list of all that was being done. So, if had been given a project by Braecen and have yet to finish it. Please email Alaris and myself with the nature as well as the status of it. We want to make sure these things get done and you guys get rewarded.

ACC:

Nothing here in the short time I've been PCON. I'll take the moment to rant a bit about it's importance.

The ACC is often over-looked. However, as a Journeyman, ACC qualification and participation is explicitly listed as being beneficial to promotion. At DJK+ this becomes less obvious, but steady ACC participation looks very good on a promotion recommendation. A member with a number ACC battles over the course of a year or so shows steady activity and therefore is easier to get through the equite ranks.

Don't ignore it. The ACC was the one area of the DB that initially attracted me greatly. Who doesn't want to write/read about two dark jedi going at it? (The answer should be no one who deserves to be in this club :P).

OMG! What's this?

In this spot in my reports, I'm going to open the curtain a bit into the Proconsul's Office. The idea was based on the fact that in my experience a lot of the work the Proconsul has done in the past is done in the shadows, away from the eyes of the Clan at Large (Even as Quaestor I was often unsure of what exactly the Proconsul was doing during any given period of time). So, in order to avoid the appearance of inactivity, I'll let you know a few of the major things I've got on my plate. Obviously some things won't be able to be discussed until they're released, but not everything requires secrecy.

Project Feud Fiction - I'd been tasked with writing the fictional backstory and plot for our upcoming feud. This is almost complete. Look to Alaris for final word on the feud start date.

Project Battle Team Boot Camp - Here's something that I'd been mulling around in my head for a while now, and I know there are similar sentiments among several members of the Clan Summit. I emailed a "proposal" of sorts to the House Leaders and BTLs, once we discuss, iron out some details, and finalize some things, I'll release this to the rest of you, probably in an email in about a week.

Project Project - Here's the one where I talked earlier about finding out all what members are doing. Again. If you've been given a project to work on. Alaris and I want to know.

In the strictest sense, the DB is an MMO. Most of us know each other first through the internet and a majority of our interaction is done online. However, one thing about the DB that sets it apart from WoW or any of the others (aside from the fact that it's completely free), is that it's entirely user created. The people who made the Brotherhood the way it is today started out as members like you and me. The Brotherhood isn't static, and it has a great potential to become what you make it. You have the potential to drive your experience with it.

While some things are more or less set in stone (as a Protector, you aren't going to be able to get a custom lightsaber on your dossier), the experience you have in CP is, at it's core, up to you. Alaris and I will try to facilitate the things that we think you guys will enjoy. But it up to you to participate and make the most of these opportunities and it is up to you to let us know if there is something you think we can be doing different or better.
