Report #10 – July 4th, 2009

• First off in Clan News...a report from your new CON. Yay! :P For those who didn't read my initial e-mail, Shadow has stepped down and gone Rogue, leaving CON vacant. Sklib also stepped down, returning to his roots in Ektrosis. As such, Consul was vacant and I've been kicked back into the spot (hence the report numbering scheme...starting from where I left off).

• Proconsul applications were opened up to the Clan. Applications are closed on July 10th, so decide quickly!

• Promotions! Congratulations go to Vladet and Vodo on being promoted to Equite Level 3 (Exarch and Epis respectively).

• Rewards! Vladet and Sidarace were both awarded with Sapphire Blades for their fantastic work during the GJW. Not too shabby himself, Vodo was given a Grand Cross for his GJW efforts

• More rewards! Vladet, Tarax, Vodo and myself (yay :P) became the newest "Sons of Taldryan". I know this is a huge honour for all of us. (btw...would I be the first person to have been awarded 2 Clan names? :P)

• A big welcome to two new members in Taldryan. A veteran of the DB, Starrett has come to join us from CP. We also had a fresh new face join us, so welcome Kayra Oran to the fold!

• Look for a couple of little competitions from me this week. I've already submitted them, so just waiting on their approval before sending the details out to you.

• The first Independant House, House Revan, is officially open. Something new is not necessarily a bad thing, so I wish them luck

• A new Fiction Tribune was announced in the form of Eludajae M'nar. You should have already received an e-mail from me about this, as well as a new position that has opened up because of it

• Also named was our very own Alexander Anderson to the position of Praetor to the Grand Master!

• The GM, CM and T:G have each released reports, so head on over to the DB site for all the details

• The position of "Hand of Justice" is currently open. As there is already a Taldryan member in the CoJ, I would suggest not applying for the position at this time. It has generally been policy to have members from two different Clans be Hands of Justice, so wait for Chaos to resign to hand in those apps.

• The MAA has released a "Titles and Honorifics" Policy, so check the DB page for all the details.

Congrats to everyone on their medals and promotions! I believe we have finally awarded everyone from the GJW who deserved it. If I missed anyone, please let me know so I can get that fixed. Kir has also finished rewarding all of the CFs, although if you still think you're missing something please e-mail him directly with exactly what you are missing and why

I would just like to wish a Happy 4th of July to any Yanks out there. Canada Day was also just a few days ago. I celebrated on a boat :P In the future I think I will use this specific space on just random updates of the various Clans, so you all know what's happening. For example, due to the new House opening up there were a few Clans who lost a number of veteran members. Namely, CSP, CP and CNS. Tarentum seemed to only lose one, but he was a Tarantae. Arcona and ourselves were the only ones who didn't have anyone moving over (I think), and hopefully we will continue to keep our members interested and motivated enough to stay here :)

In all honesty I did not expect to be in any DB leadership position for some time, especially not Consul. However, a general rule of thumb I've gone by is if you think there's a problem, but do nothing to solve it, then you're just as much at fault as anyone else. We all knew the situation in the Clan, and people did finally do something about it. As such, I will work as hard as I can to make sure this Clan grows and prospers, as well as ensuring the House Summits perform to the best of their ability. My e-mail is always open for anyone who has any ideas, suggestions, thoughts or complaints regarding the general direction of the Clan. The same goes for your House leaders. We are all here to make sure you are enjoying yourselves, so let us know how you're doing and what you enjoy, and we can work at making it happen.
