Aedile Report

The figure strode into the Dragons Citadel, his cloak blowing behind him. Blood slicked the floor, with the sources slumped against the wall. There had been at least a platoon of soldiers stationed here, now all lay with gaping wounds out of which trickled what remained of their blood. The stench of death was powerful. Crimson handprints patterned the walls and statues.

As the figure walked through the entry hall, one of the troops coughed, blood dribbling down his chin.

“What happened?” questioned the voice from within the shade of the cloak, as he kneeled down beside the soldier.

“They... came in silently... assassins...” gasped the trooper; a sergeant judging from his regalia and insignia. He rose and walked towards the turbolift. The power to the turbolift had been cut, but there were always other ways to ascend. The figure stood on the lift and reached out with the Force. A slight motion of his hand caused the lift to rise through the air.

Arriving on the floor of the Aedile’s office, the figure ceased the acceleration and stepped slowly and purposefully towards the office door. There was a clear presence of two intruders in the room; he could feel their exact locations. He unclasped his cloak and let it fall to a heap on the floor. A wave of Koryn’s hand slid the door open. He charged in, activating his lightsaber in the process, and dived at his first victim. The violet blade pierced the assassin’s stomach. The Rodian ripped the weapon through the assassin’s side and let the corpse crash to the floor before turning to the second trespasser. The assassin had already pulled a knife from his belt and threw it at the Rodian. It spiralled through the air towards its target. Koryn’s blade snapped upwards and sliced through the metal. The Rodian gripped the man with the Force and pulled him onto the lightsaber. The human gasped before his body went limp and slumped beside the other carcass.

As he kneeled down to search the bodies, a white hot pain scorched Koryn’s chest. He looked down with what little energy he had left; a red lightsaber blade was protruding from a gaping wound. Looking back, the face of his attacker was obscured. His vision blurred and he sat bolt upright in his bed. A cold sweat dripped from his brow. A vision of some future event, whether distant or soon-to-be, the Aedile could not say. He would have to be wary at all times.

Welcome to the greatest show in the galaxy!

As you have probably heard, I am your new Aedile after Tra’an’s resignation, and this is the first Aedile report from my desk.

Hope you enjoyed the fiction. I’m thinking of turning it into an epic saga for the next few reports, so keep an eye out for the next chapter.

Projects

We have a number of projects on the go at the moment. If you want to help on them email us and we’ll give you details. You may be rewarded for your effort (hint, hint =P).

We are also working on a few events that will be coming your way in the future. Keep an eye out for them.

We are running a YouTube advertising campaign, but we need your help to create the adverts. Create a short video advertising the DB and HAD (put your PIN in the entry for recruitment purposes). Most of the other Clans’ YouTube videos are a series of images with some fancy transition effects. So create something simple like that, or create something a bit more complex with a storyline. Upload them to YouTube then send me and Kalak a link. Top 3 will receive 3rd Level Crescents.

News

Rise of a Rebellion has been delayed yet again. No release date has been scheduled.

The Journeymen Promotion Requirements have been updated. I suggest that all Journeymen and Masters take a look at this.

Congrats to our former Housemate, Ludy, on grabbing the Fiction Tribune position. She is currently running a DB wide competition, so check it out and submit to it.

If you want to retake an SA exam, you no longer have to email the Headmaster to get your score deleted first. But beware, if you get a lower score, it still gets replaced.
