Arcona,

A fairly silent week has passed us by. However, I do want to take a moment to remind people that still waters often run deep. And, in fact, this week there have been some fairly large topics on the table for the future of Our Clan. Some of these are minor recognition pieces being worked on by Strategos and I... others are fairly large and being examined by the combined leadership and di Tenebrous Arconae. If you would like to discuss some of what is going on before I post the forthcoming changes next week... drop me an e-mail.

Clan News

Proconsul Leave of Absence

I will be taking the next four days off. I have a conference in Kansas City, MO for my company. I will be sure to give you all an update on how awesome Modern Warfare 2 is, as well as, a review of the movie "Law Abiding Citizen" - both of which I get to preview early this week. When I get back, my first order of business is finalizing some of the new changes we expect to see next week and getting that information out to the entire clan.

Strategos Returns

Our Consul has been busy handling issues away from his computer. I want to take a moment to applaud the Quaestors and their Aediles for stepping forward during this time and filling the gaps. I know Strategos is proud of each House Leader, those whom were leaders by action and the newest members of our ranks whom have exceeded expectations with their ravenous desire to succeed. With that said, Strategos will be returning to normal form this week (coincidentally coming with my absence). Be sure to give him the support our Consul deserves and share any insights and ideas you have with him.

Brotherhood News

Forum Reorganization

The Brotherhood Forums were, as stated in feedback, too daunting to navigate. As such, utilizing the perspective of our members, the Forums were streamlined for greater efficiency. This change should result in easier navigation and - hopefully - an increase in the new member traffic on the Forums.

Taldyran Consul Announced

Krath Epis Vodo Biask was appointed to lead the Second Clan. Vodo is the first 'fresh blood' we have seen in the Taldyran Consul position in some time. He is an extremely capable member and, currently, he is seeking someone with capacity to fill his need for a Proconsul. If you are looking for high caliber leadership, be sure to apply for the opening.

Grand Master Report

The Grand Master has released a new report that discusses lulls in Brotherhood activity, recognizes some of our club's most devout and a bunch of random stuff about how much cooler the site is these days. Many props to Jac for pushing our club forward to Rebirth. Many props to Kaine for introducing new War Banners and Cyris for introducing the concept for the Robes (in lieu of Chi's rage-quit and taking all his toys home with him). As well as the Heralds whom have helped expand upon those ideas.

The Message

Leadership. Perception is often reality. And I am proud to announce that our perception is going to be changing - to a degree.

The most important message I can ever preach to each of you (whom read this) is that leadership is less about position and entirely dependant on action. Yes, there will be a chain of command, because without organization we will lose our focuses. And without assistant leaders, we will not be able to identify our gaps and attack them by modifying the behaviors so we can continue to succeed.

With that said, expect to see some changes coming down the pipe. We are going to be looking at adding some new flavor to the landscape of Arcona in the coming weeks. Yes, we will experience challenges and growing pains. We will, however, change with those challenges while we continue to have fun - while being the best (And, we are the best). Ultimately, though, we will be gaining a new outlet for growth in our leadership model. People will be leading by example and experience will be shared (easily) from our seasoned veterans to our newer, developing leaders.

So, as I have said a couple times... keep your eyes open for some forthcoming change.

*Help a new member succeed where they face opposition

*Help a leader call out and recognize our active, productive members

*Give your peers the support they need to succeed
